What is the attitude towards Christmas in Bangkok?

I would love to book a nice Xmas lunch somewhere for when I'm there in December, and I've checked numerous hotel websites that are in the Suk area and NONE of them have anything about Xmas on their websites at all! :doah:

Haven't checked for about 5 days, but wasn't anything at all last time I checked. :dunno:

It's better than like here in the U.S. when Christmas advertising began well before Halloween. Don't fret.....the menus will come out soon I'm sure. :)

Whats Christmas?

Celebration of the alledged birth of some fairy tale character dreamed up over 2,000 years ago. What next we will be having global celebrations for Snow Whites alledged birthday.

If I wish to purchase gifts for loved ones, over indulge on food and alcohol etc there are 365 days a year to do it on, I dont need "Christmas" as an excuse, especialy since many establishments raise their prices to cash in on peoples gulability.

Talk about Sheeple!

Say what you want about Jesus, but back off on Snow White. Disney is a major employer where I live, and they might have future plans for her anniversaries! :susel::D

Snow White was around well before Walt Disney.

Snow White, (in German, Schneewittchen) is the title character of a well known fairy tale known from many places in Europe, the most known version being the one collected by the Brothers Grimm. The German version features elements such as the mirror and the seven dwarfs. In non-German versions the dwarfs are generally robbers, while the talking mirror is a dialog with the sun or moon. In a version from Albania, collected by Johann Georg von Hahn and published in Griechische und albanesische Mrchen. Gesammelt, bersetzt und erlutert (1864), the main character lives with 40 dragons. The sleep is caused by a ring. The start of the story also has an interesting twist in that a teacher urges the heroine to kill her own mother so that the teacher can take her place. The origin of the tale is debated; it is likely no older than the Middle Ages. Many scholars think it originated somewhere in Asia.
