allistar
A member of "Stealers wheels" (stuck in the middle again) and a solo artist (Baker street), Scottish born Gerry Rafferty died today at the age of 63, after a long illness. http://music-mix.ew.com/2011/01/04/gerry-rafferty-obit-appreciation/
kamui
I only know "Baker Street" by him. But this is a perfect pop song: WkS169P_Eeo ... He's got this dream about buyin' some land He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands And then he'll settle down there's a quiet little town And forget about everything ... Those lines make more and more sense the older you get.
Flashermac
Why do Scottish entertainers usually have Irish names?
carew66
Ah, Mr. Flash, 'tis a long, long, misty and devilish history! Now, how about that there Paul McCartney? He was in a band called the Beatles some years ago. I gather that they enjoyed some success with their 'beat' or 'pop' music. He's an Englishman with an Irish name who sang about Scotland. It's a melting pot, I tell ye!
