radioman
I need to send a big file to a friend, 230MB. Obviously email is out of the question. Since this is already compressed even a multi part zip or rar is about the same size and way too many parts to send easily. Any ideas about a free simple non intrusive facility to send a big file to a friend? Thanks
expat
Just upload it to Filesonic or Megaupload or one of the other file sharing sites. Then give the url to your friend.

[update: ah, yes, Skype. Probably the most easiest way, since most people use Skype, otherwise Yousendit works fine.]
Flashermac
In the old movies they always baked the file in a cake.
radioman
Trying megaupload to see if that works. Have previously used Skype for small stuff when in contact but found it very slow. Maybe there is another way. I like the idea of a digital cake to hide the file in.

Pom Michael
Dropbox is ok for moving big files between your own computers - but I have not tried to set up for public distribution of a file.
