zen4dummies Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I read Bob Woodward's 4 book series on Bush's wars and then Obama's Wars. A lot of it was quite dry. I got caught up on modern history Then I read The Great Gatsby for something lighter. Fitzgerald is my type of writer.

YimSiam Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I am soldiering on through the murk of Samuel Lyde's The Asian Mystery - I thought it would be a murder-thriller taking place between Bangkok and Hong Kong, but it turns out it's an ancient thing on the Alawites of Syria. It is not much fun... yet I continue a few pages each night, because the more I suffer, the more I deserve my next escape to Bangkok. 1

This was an eye opener!! Author states that he uncovered many sources that did not come forward for other books of this nature. At times a bit repetitive but an interesting read.

Very interesting read
