Coss
I heard an interesting discourse on the history of toilet paper and other wipes, yes it's true ! Since caveman times, everything from moss, leaves and twigs et al has been used. But what caught my interest, is that medieval Arabs used pebbles, this is not as interesting as what follows. The prophet Muhammad was moved to make a decree on these pebbles, apparently his God has decided that one must use an uneven number of pebbles to wipe one's arse. 1,3,5,7,9,11 etc etc or you won't get into heaven! 2,4,6,8,10 etc etc you go to hell Be warned. Theres a suicide bomber, lurking in the bushes, counting your used pebbles.
Flashermac
It is also reported in the hadith of Bukhari that whenever Muhammad went to the toilet, he said "In the name of Allah, O Allah! I seek refuge with You from all offensive and wicked things" (alternate translation: "from evil deeds and evil spirits"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_toilet_etiquette
