Coss
NZ to face Oracle in the America's Cup after beating Sweden today. If Oracle can keep Trumpo away from Bermuda, then USA have a good chance of winning the first to 7 series, did I mention, that the rules say, that Oracle can take a point into the series, from earlier series, so that NZ have to win 8 to take the cup? As it stands, Oracle are in pole position. TNZ will start the finals on -1 and Oracle on zero. First to 7 wins, so Team NZ need to be victorious in eight races to win the cup; Oracle only need to win seven. My Penis is hungry
The America's Cup has always had weird rules these rules seem to be made up as it goes along to favour the USA
Coss
Well technically the winner of the cup can make any rules they like, but in Larry Ellison's drive to 'commercialise' the event, he's seen it as another rich lister's event to be held in the playgrounds of the wealthy, and to ensure that happens, he doesn't really want NZ taking it all the way down to the bottom of the world again. Most of the contestants meet and discuss the future of the event being in places like Bermuda, warm, comfy and so on. NZ don't go to the meetings, because if they win, Auckland it'll be. In summer though, so not too cold... The next races, Oracle v NZ are weekends only so Sunday my time and gonna be very exiting I think. Sailing at three times wind speed is almost unheard of. Well not now obviously.

bust
Excellent news. When can we expect the next rule change?
Coss
Well the holder is allowed to have two boats, but the challenger only one, so Oracle could cause an accidental collision, and pop out in a spare boat to trounce a damaged Kiwi boat, just supposition at this stage...
