spirit_of_town_hall
Hi, But surely the purchasing power is still the same. Yes 1 Aus $ gets you less than 1 £ but you guys earn numerically 2 and a half times what we earn. STH

shotover
"$ just crossed 43 baht, with baht continuing to weaken" I like this trend with my next trip coming up in November. I was worried when it dropped below 40 recently. However, I remember reading the PM doesn't want the baht to fall too low, and they may soon take some action to reverse this very recent and short-lived trend. gummigut
The PM made the remark and then had to "backtrack". Actually he made a number of comments but they aren't worth going into here (especially as I will get political I actually thought the baht would weaken back over 44, but as things are working out at the moment, 42-44 sounds like the band. <<burp>>
StoneSoup
44+ and climbing. Do I hear a 46.......? 46 anyone....?? The silence from the $-bashers is deafening. Let's hear it for Bernie Trink, inserting a quote from Emo Phillips in last week's Column: "A computer once beat me at chess, but it couldn't hold a candle to me in kick-boxing." - Emo "Let the good times roll !!!!" spirit_of_town_hall
Hopefully it will be 71 baht to the £ at xmas. To observe crudely that will bring the price of short time down to what I pay for a McDonalds Happy meal with large fries in England; or a blow job and beer at Star of Light the equivalent to a large coffee and muffin from Starbucks. sanukdee
let's just hope it gets to 50 so we can do the conversion in our head without a calculator. ::
Guest
Where did you get that average for the UK from? I thought the Uk average was 50% higher than you have quoted.
