No smoking in Bangkok as of 1st August

Like all laws in LOS.........

Here in Madrid: Smoking is prohibited in public places too, bars/restaurants have smoker and non smoking zones (except tapas bars/cervecerias of course).

-> the problem now? More and more complaints that the streets/front zone of these places are littered with cigarette butts and over croweded with smokers.

(which is understandable given the cigarette prices here compared to other European countries)

Will anyway stop smoking this week......

Damn......has this been almost 8 years already??? Doesn't seem like it's been that long.

What do you think? For the better......worse?? Indifferent?

For me....I'm basically a non-smoker. Like a cigar or 2 once in awhile and do smoke cigs when I get completely shit-faced. That being said, I'd prefer the bars be allowed to choose for themselves or do away with the ban. Obviously, this ordinance is here to stay but as we all know, enforcement seems lax. I've never seen or even heard of a ticket given to an individual or a bar yet.
