I think not! 3) It may not/probably won't last forever. 4) Look at a map and see where other options like PI, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia are in relationship to you. Now, look where those places are in relation to...CHICAGO!!! I LIVE IN HELLLLLLLLL!!!!! 5) You still live in paradise. If its true that the police are more interested in drugs than in the sex trade, relax. The girls are used to seeing a place full of westerners, loads in one place. On the street the see dribs and drabsof westerners an girls everywhere. Just be brutal on your bargaining same as the girls have been on the prices they charge. Claims the gals move out of the Thermae onto the street, where the lights are better and the prices more negotiable. He told me he got better prices, since the girls figured it was their last shot at making any money for the evening. Rumors abound. Cowboy will open until 2. Nana Disco will stay open late. Pat Pong will be open until 5AM. All of these are just unsubstantiated rumors. For now it is a firm closing of 1AM everywhere in compliance with the existing law. I asked someone with a lot more experience and insight than myself why this is happening. His response was “Thai Logic”. Will this last? Most owners and the police say this is for real. However, it was 1:10 before Nana was closed last night and the Police presence was low profile. Most bar owners are now planning to open an hour earlier and, as we speak, computers and cash registers are being rigged for higher prices to conform with recent price increases in Nana Plaza. As usual a few bar owners will hold off on price increases in hopes of attracting more customers. It never happens. The girls don’t mind, in the least, that they are going home an hour earlier. Quite pissed, however, about starting work an hour earlier. Responses to other posts: Sarisin We know the bars have to close at 1AM in NEP.
