I'm finding huge numbers of his doccos in the ether, sometimes I wonder how he had time to grow old, with the amount of content he's narrated. Very good, as you say a treasure.. a tangent: 7DOS - seven days of science - if I wondered where Attenborough's successor would come from: https://www.youtube.com/@7DaysofScience. 3 young'uns doing it quite well and also, one of their members obviously decided to get serious and they also do this one, but without the young person thing... First person on the left: the honorable President of the United States. A view of pure dignity, accompanied by a female sect member, Kristi Noem. A selection of America´s finest.

It was shown at the same time as adolescence over here and TBH I found Toxic Town the better of the two

I crack a 70 hour week in my business. Never contemplated retirement. But,the inevitable happened. Eyes wide - in concern. Woke up as per usual - 4am- and knew it was time to approach the subject of selling my business. I’ve done nothing other than work the long hours in my business for so long, the hours are as much just normal to me. The sacrifice of the long hours has had the effect on what could have been a normal life….but it has created many losses. Too many on the personal side. However, thoughts are at a stage where I’m accepting it is time. Now,issues of what will occupy my time are considerable in contemplation - realisation of what NEEDS TO BE DONE CONCERN ME. Here I touch on,am I able to stop what has become so very much part of my existence ? So,perhaps the return trips which I have not done as a result of the business needs, can now be taken. I imagine the pleasure of NOT HAVING TO RETURN DUE TO WORK PRESSURE - this appeals to me. Hell it does more so now than before. So here goes chaps,I have 10 months to retire, then I’ve ’gotta do what a man wants to do’. See you maybe, maybe not,but rather the former! Ten months = 300 days = time to engage ‘second’. Wink wink !!

What Film (Movie) Have You Just Watched?

Toxic Town [2025 TV] When dozens of babies in Corby are born with disabilities, their mothers embark on a battle to hold those responsible to account. Based on true events, this is another Netflix mini series that they are churning out in abundance, but this one stands out for the strong performances in a formulaic format that entertains despite its grim tale. -

Tornado [2025 Movie] A Japanese puppeteer's daughter gets caught up with criminals when their show crosses paths with a crime gang. A windswept samurai western set in apocalyptic Scotland, some established actors in incredibly simple story telling, shallow acting, b-level movie not worth the time of day. -

The Phoenician Scheme [2025 Movie] A wealthy businessman appoints his only daughter, a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As he embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins. A stunningly original movie, not for everyone, continues Anderson’s unmistakable visual and narrative style with the subtlest of humor. Worth seeing. -
No mention of AMF in that list 😊 And if you do get in the shit it will be Biden's fault just like the Texas floods.

you are correct, but I still don't know how much of the air industry's systems are US influenced i.e in terms of air ticket space: Global Distribution Systems (GDS) These are the largest and most influential platforms in the worldwide air ticket booking ecosystem: Amadeus: The world's largest GDS, accounting for about 40% of global GDS transactions. It is especially dominant in Europe and has the biggest global market share footprint. Sabre: Originating from American Airlines, Sabre is a major GDS with strong presence in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. It serves over 400,000 travel agencies in more than 160 countries. Travelport: This company operates three major GDS brands—Galileo, Worldspan, and Apollo—and is active in 180 countries worldwide. Abacus: A leading GDS in the Asia-Pacific region, now owned by Sabre Holdings, serving over 100,000 travel agents across 59 markets. etc. Security is not really something I can find out about. but: Most countries utilize a common air industry security system based on ICAO’s global standards, particularly Annex 17 and the Global Aviation Security Plan. These frameworks ensure a coordinated, risk-based approach to aviation security worldwide, with each country responsible for implementing and maintaining effective security measures in line with international best practices. In my paranoia, I reckon it would not be a stretch, for a 20 yr old Twonk to make a notification somewhere that is shared internationally. I posted elsewhere here, about getting 2 carryon bag searches, when I arrived in Bangkok from Laos, before I boarded a flight to Oz. Walk walk search, walk walk search, walk walk board flight. It wasn't just me, there were others, but annoying. Given the search before I boarded the Lao-Bkk flight, I thought the 2 in Bkk were unnecessary. My suspicions of how far American (or other) "security" extends into the rest of the world, remain. And no I don't think I'm personally in focus, just annoyed that it seems impossible to travel without something interfering with my journey.

I really don't think foreign countries are tripping over themselves to assist the US in anything at the moment.

No but Oz may choose to access my phone if the USA decide to check all travellers and put said travellers on a list somewhere. Unlikely and I’m harmless, but they’re sweeping up innocents by the truckload in the USA so this is where it starts. I’m probably wrong but I’ve decided that the risk of some 20 yr old Twonk with access to some industrial strength Ai in a faceless doge office somewhere, might think that international passenger lists are a good place to trawl to boost their quota. It would be never mean my detention for anything but interactions with airport folk can ruin yer day. Ergo no bait from me for twonk fisher folk.

The history of Iran's nuclear program. Bowling anyone?

Why would you think they have the right to access your devices traveling to anywhere outside the USA? US law enforcement agencies do not have any powers or authority overseas and based on their current relationship with most foreign countries, unless you're planning on traveling to Russia, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Not a lot of recent reports from Pattaya, though I did pass through there a few weeks back. Soi 6 is a nice street as is Soi Boukow and 3rd road over by “The Edge” condo/hotel area. Expect higher prices for everything on Walking street. Seafood places are expensive as hell… Where do you plan to stay?

Bubi, even in a tangential thread, the message is apt. Historically when the greedy, vain and dodgy, worked out that their path to glory (their idea of success), was "controlling the narrative", the clever, the wise and even us here, said that the masses wont be fooled long term, by a farcical "narrative". The clever, the wise and even us here, were wrong. Collectively the masses, are dumb as bricks, and those of us who are not dumb as bricks, are rare and infrequent, diamonds in the rough, in a great big pile of bricks. The Trump experiment is over - the results are in, the Trump experiment works. How sad. Historically of course, when the rich are too greedy, the masses will rebel and take back society, often with negative consequences for the rich: England 1688 France 1789 Russia 1917 China 1945 'nuff said...

Sorry wrong thread, in the meantime I found this: In a private meeting to discuss the 2026 midterms, House Democrats brought in an outside pollster who presented internal Democratic polling that showed few voters said they had heard “a lot” about the bill, while larger shares said they had heard “a little” or “not at all.” Hopeless.

Look at this: ignorance at it´s peak. These people I´m afraid do not deserve any better. "Democrats still have work to do to win the messaging battle against Trump’s legislative agenda. Polling conducted on behalf of House Democrats last month showed that few battleground voters knew much about the GOP’s massive tax and spending cuts package, which initially passed the House in May, according to PowerPoint slides of the data presented to members, obtained by CNN.
