  1. Flash, it's not too late to get into the bar business! You've just hit your goldmine of an idea, just work on it, get some investors, pay off the BiB, hack Pokemon Go... it's a guaranteed winner.
  2. Come on, board members, help Pom Michael out! Certainly we can find at least ten good ways for him to spend his 30 kgs of Thai coins, other than the very mundane plan to turn it in for cash! One: Dropping coins in the boxes at the temple - Wat Po comes to mind as one with 108 brass bowls. That's one idea. Two: That's right, as she packs up to go in the morning, subtle slip 2,373 baht worth of coins into her handbag - plus another 117 baht in coins in her pocket for "taxi"... 2,373 too much, spoiling the market? Okay, 1,789 baht...
  3. Thank God for Pokemon Go - now if I get caught in Star of Light, by whoever, I just whip out my phone and claim that it was Pokemon Go brought me there. And I don't know why this woman's mouth is on my dick, I was absorbed in the game.
  4. Why farang no go temple? One coin, one pot, round and round. Good Buddha for you.
  5. I didn't realize you were a big tipper, Specialist!
  6. What conclusion should I draw if girth is equal to length, I wonder?
  7. The girls do an occasional cheerleading dance between tables and bar, joined in by the bartender ladies as well. Perhaps it is their petite and pneumatic running shoes that they wear, but the dancing is remarkably energetic and bouncy for soi 4, where energy levels are so generally low. They are fit and slim and I applaud them for their periodic expressions of cheerful enthusiasm.
  8. For food, the correct options are: Little Smokies (a term I used broadly to describe everything on those roller heating bars), or the refrigerated Thai meals - gaeng Penang or red curry are good, and pad krapow w/khai dao recommended, as always. None of the sandwiches, generally. The little tins of tuna salad with salty crackers are actually okay, too, if you've got good guts. Also, sarabao okay as well.
  9. As far as the bug problem goes, I've found it much improved in stays in recent years - used to be a disaster. Here's a note they include on their welcome page, which must be a first for a hotel! Protected by: Mar Yam Pest Control (Thailand), and a couple of House Cats. Click here. " It should be remembered, that death apart, which is that, that grabs the headlines ... the long term effect of this practice can only be imagined regarding to one's health in the future, not withstanding that of future generations yet unborn. ( Personally ! ... and off the record; .. I would & do feel safer if I were to find 'Some-sign-of Life' during my various travels around Asia ! ... But do understand that this is purely subjective ). " and more alarming still?
  10. Good man! But doesn't it really start with the Royal Ploughing Ceremony at Sanam Luang, without which there'd be no rain and little rice?!
  11. Antibacterial soap, too, which is an absolutely necessary upgrade on the usual scented "facial bars" in hotel baths... They also have a handful of other items that I have relied on to greater or lesser frequency during my years in Thailand and the rising/falling tides of my moral fortunes... (One wonders how long an ebb tide can continue before certainly a tsunami wave must arrive in return - if you someday notice me standing on the corner of soi 4 with 'End Is Nigh Sign' and Bible in hand, you will know that my immoral ways have finally bottomed out and I have finally come roaring back an upstanding - and beyond! - paragon of indecency. I mean: decency. Paragon of decency.) There are still a couple Internet shops on 4, which I find quaint and occasional of utmost utility; I have bought more than a few replacement tickets or rebooked flights that I missed while in the near environs of soi 4 from those quiet little internet terminals. Very refreshing to get a rebooking sorted out and realize that only one - or not even one - day of work will be missed due to my habitual intoxicated failure to reconcile my own more-flexible approach to scheduling with those rather over-rigid schedules pursued by the airlines...
  12. Perhaps akin to being given a lovely ankle bracelet by the FBI... or Fido getting a collar and leash from his best friend/owner... (No offense I hope, bust - just noting the possibilities a gifted phone may represent - I'm sure there are those on the board who have done the reverse, giving accessible/trackable phones to their suspect ladies... Too easy in this day and age...)
  13. Nope, no airport travel - not allowed by employer, had to come in overland from Beirut, and no such service on that route. But the Four Seasons reception girls are gorgeous even now, and friendly in that warm Syrian way.
  14. I'm guessing you WON'T be at Nana Plaza...
  15. Yeah, something not right with her - or with him. Certainly there are better locations for this activity, the activity itself being perfectly acceptable...
  16. I've worked in Lebanon and Syria, and am currently in Jordan, and have to say - I'd steer clear of the Lebanese, amongst the three. The Syrians - okay, from the central/west/northern areas, I'm not so keen on the tribal Sunni types in the South and East - are the best - maybe not as beautiful on the surface as Lebanese and Jordanians even may be (more access to docs with scalpels, etc), but there's something special underneath. If I had to choose, I'd go Syrian.
  17. Considering the other markets that have remained viable for many years on soi 4, one would hope that "hamburgers, beers, chicken wings, attractive young women scantily clad" would still be among those that can draw an audience. But who knows.
  18. At that rate, it's worth it to buy one of the Priority Pass deals for access to lounges, even just to get your cola! (Let alone the full tumblers of whiskey I occasional down as I leave the lounge, to overcome lack of sufficient booze service on flights...)
  19. Those numbers are remarkably low, imho. We must be a sturdy breed - or perhaps slink off back to die in our homeland.
  20. Love her. Saw her - extended topless - and Al Pacino - clothed - on Broadway in Salome about 15 years ago... Ah, Marisa. Mine.
  21. Or just fermented like a pungent, tasty paa dek...
  22. Passing through BKK recently was stunned by the cellphone affliction - have never seen people so uniformly engaged with their screens, anywhere! Remarkable. But no snatch-scratching that I noticed.
  23. Wait - the police helped ensure that a prominent member of society with lots of money didn't get in trouble, and that's being considered some sort of malfeasance?! I thought that was a pretty central part of the job description, help iron out possible ripples in the peaceful and happy society where people know their place?
  24. Mail, fax, Western Union, Whatsapp - I take it as I can get it these days...
