tonychang
on reflection was rembering a conversation I had with a mate, that we reckoned about 95%+ percent of our farang male friends (and associates) who lived in Thailand's partners (girlfriends) had worked in bars. Can I asume this to be corrrect in general?

Straycat
why don't you start a poll?
shygye
Well your mates are a sub-population of the expat population AND not a random sample of the population. So can not draw any conclusions in general.

limbo
Of all the married people I personally know in Thailand, none is married to a bargirl. If they where, so what
Fiery Jack
on reflection was rembering a conversation I had with a Soi 7 freelancer behind the 7/11 at the entrance to NEP whilst being 'rimmed' , that we reckoned about 100% percent of my farang male friends (and associates) who live in Stoke are long-term alcoholics and habitual drug users currently serving a 2-month stretch in stir for illegal distribution of pornographic materials and possession of a Class A substance (case subject to ongoing appeal). (His name's 'Smokey' .) Can I asume this to be corrrect in general? jack

That's what makes it fun. On this one, there never will be any reliable figures, but I would say 95% is too high. Maybe 75% is nearer the mark. (This is based on my experience of two couples - one girl is definitely an ex-bar girl and the other I'm not sure about - 50:50 probability).
