A case in point on the daft moderation seen today on the board bar. WA locks two threads with just the comment 'fini' one was about D Day (fought for freedom)and the other on Reagan. OK they can both be called political even if a long time ago, but the threads were not getting out of hand and there were no flames being tossed about, and it was interesting. This is the kind of thing which really pisses people of IMO.-peter

I know what you mean, and it's always nice to see recent shots around the country that bring back memmories, and/or get you excited about your next upcoming trip over. These are nice to see. Problem from what I understand is maybe band-width/space taken up?

Something like this idea is being kicked around now. We'll see. Though not wanting to just swipe Stick's idea on this ya know. But something similar in a different style or vein maybe. The problem with pics coming in and being posted by members though is, I guess, I'm no IT techie, control of the content?

Ageed, and true. I've seen this from the pics I've sent along to Stick's site along with some of my stories there. I've gotten quite a few positive comments on having the pics with the stories, so I know what you mean on this.

Thanks for reminding me of this. I wonder if something may be able to be done like this again? I'll ask and maybe get KS and the other mods to kick around a few ideas.

I know what you are saying. Suffice to say things are in the works and some more time is needed from what I understand.

This is very well put T3, and I do agree on this. Seems hypocritical to a large extent. One reason I'd offer is the NGO scrutiny of anything Cambo and sex related. The pedo stuff from there has made this area a very touchy, and even dangerous subject to a degree. But I do agree this shouldn't be a problem if handled correctly and with the insight some here have. I'll bring this up with the other mods and KS. Good point there. I'd like to get a feel for what the thoughts are on this myself.

Christ. Who knows! Too many to keep up with though, and most smaller and less diverse really. But this is good too, as one can find the ones you like that have features that are enjoyed, and bounce around them. Just a broader info and amusement base really.

Yes. The "attack dog" syndrome. This ticks me off as well. My Sanuk I feel, and not very welcoming or inclusionary. Some feel the need to pick apart every goddamned post, like it's a fucking doctoral thesis or something. Can and does scare away those who may not want to have to defend every little thing they post. I'd love to see this attitude toned down a lot myself.

Yes, or not posting much if they are still here. Thank god for Jasmine's input. I do think it helps give another dimension to the board.

Well, jump on their asses and tell 'em to post something! As a favor to us all who may enjoy the post or benefit from them. The time taken doesn't have to be a lot of time and effort really. Just the occassional post or anecdote or info helps a lot to add to the board. And is appreciated by the next guy down the line who may need the info in the post or story or whatever.

Well this is probably more relevant to suggestions, but I'll add a few humble observations.

Since the membership survey revealed most members like hanging out here, I would agree. It would be nice if political banning didn't include historic events like these 2 things closed today. Just because everyone doesn't agree about something is a shame it spells the end of a interesting topic. I actually find the different viewpoints the whole value in it.

 

Agreed that this site should not be reduced to a porn site

 

Oddly enough, arguments about P4P can be much more sensitive than politics. Example: just mention the word GTG or something about Eden and you are bound to start a fire storm of controversy.

Agree pictures would be the best way to spice up interest in the board. Not thinking of girls either, just of interesting sights to see and with all the photo enabled cell phones and digital cams there'd be a huge amount! USA Today introduced an unheard of idea of bringing color to newspaper and has done really well. Computer gaming has gone from textual to graphical. Message boards are a form of recreation between newspapers and games and I would expect they will at some point go graphical and I think it will be very cool.

KS perhaps those who have been nagging have a point, hence the recent developments elsewhere. Please don't take everything I say as just negative moaning, I have tried to suggest a few things which might be improvements. From what you have posted yourself in recent weeks you seem concerned about the drop off in traffic and I know you have asked the mods to be more relaxed. Puzzling then why you want to support posts being locked with just a fini statment, seems rather rude to me. Still it's your board and you can do what you like.Hopefully Cent will develop some new ideas into realities. -peter

i have to agree with thai3 here.

what was wrong with the D-Day thread?.

started as a dedication to many brave men who fought and died for their country in a time of darkness.

this weekend there are a lot of ceremonies to remember these people who bought the war to an end.

i see nothing political about the thread.

 

the question about Pix has been spoken about many times.

personally i would see nothing wrong if a section of the Forum was set up which allowed general Pix of Thailand,the nightlife and the Girls.

i don't mean Porno,just nice ones of the Girls.

i have shared Pix of Girls i have known with other Members and they were just everyday ones of good looking Girls.

i am sure the Members would have no problem if i posted the Pix they have seen.

Part of the problem is likely that lately almost all of your posts have a negative tone.

 

As for the closing of those threads, I thought it was understood why we have the no politics rule here.

 

As for pictures, Jigger and I have been looking at a new addition to this board, a photo gallery, but so far we have not been able to integrate it. We are also rather wary about the additional bandwidth such a gallery would bring with it, and we are not sure if we can offer such a service for free.
