Alfmaz Posted June 6, 2004 Report Share Posted June 6, 2004 We don't want this board turned into a Pattaya-at-night form, where one of the members have started a picture site and people can post pics of bar girls around Pattaya in the nude and pics of Thailand, but the board has been ruled by two posters, but I like this site keep it away from the porn, but I have to admit the last few years the post have gone down from when I 1st joined this board. The post is in response to some complaints I have been hearing from some members who really don't post much and add much to the board. There's no desperation at all, just a reply to those complaining to post something so they can see what "they" want on here, rahter than just whining. They should contribute themselves. Anyone can post their conquests and adventures in the P4P scene here in the appropriate forums. NL and TR or even Stories forums. Board Bar, etc. There's plenty of places to post whatever is liked, as long as it is within the rules, and I don't see the rules being very restricting really. Actually the forums are quite diverse and make for an excellent source of info and amusement. The problem I see is too many take, but don't give back. People ask for and get info on their trips, yet rarely write up a trip report, story, anecdote, link source of info from the trip, etc., to show their appreciation of the info they found here, and to impart info themselves for the next guy down the road. Yet some complain about the content of the board, or the direction of the board, or whatever, and rarely speak up here and voice their feelings, desires, needs and wants of the board. On another site I was looking at a very interesting series of shots around Bkk taken this week, no real bargirls, unless you count hello girls, mainly nightime shots.Even stickman has the popular where is this pic every week and that generates a lot of interest just from that one image, people like photo's, they don't have to be shots of tarts with their legs open. We did have the beauty contest pics at one time where we could vote for the one we liked best. Without wanting to go on about the pay area too much it has always mystified me why it has not been developed more and I say it has never really worked because in the past things have been tried to attract people such as another board there which hardly ever had any posts. What the paying numbers of memebers are though I have no idea, but it seems like a pretty dead area to me. On the no no areas I hear complaints about cambodia being almost a no go zone, it's not pedo postings, I mean just ordinary reports about prostitiution. I believe the objections are the way prostitiution is organised in cambodia. Seems OK though to write about bars here which still employ underage girls in Bkk so the moral objections to cambodia seem a bit suspect. New boards seem to appear on a monthly basis, when I started to read this site in 1996 this along with ASFO, SCT and WSG was about it. How many such places are there now? There is a lot of competition for peoples attention and I just think we have to make the site more atractive to make people want to post more without wondering if the post is going to get jumped on. Seems a pity that the thai girls seem to have vanished, can some users here of chat rooms invite a few here? A couple of students posting here would be a huge attraction! khunsanuk Posted June 6, 2004 Report Share Posted June 6, 2004 Hi, "Without wanting to go on about the pay area too much it has always mystified me why it has not been developed more" Couple of reasons for this, but mainly: - I no longer go out and therefore cannot keep up to date with bar reviews etc. - I really do not know what to write about anymore - whenever we tried adding some interactive stuff (hotel/bar reviews, rankings, etc.) almost invariably they generate hardly any response, which makes me wonder why I bother putting up the effort - having a full time job and a wife there is not much time left, add in the amount of time I spend in running this board and the memberarea often loses out. I will be the first to admit that the memberarea is seriously lacking, but without getting some additional people involved (i.e. a content person and a marketing person) I do not see how I can change this.
