This can become a very interesting one, with Armstrong going for a 6th straight win.

Nobody ever won the Tour 6 times, let alone 6 times in a row.

What's actually the deal on these acusations towards Lance for taking doping?

Is that to be taken serious?

Limbo,

As far as I can follow here, lots of rumors, no proof at all, no investigations either, so for the moment all is ok.

Betcha that he will be the first one to pee for testing anyway :p

BTW, Ullrich won the Swiss tour last week, he looks in topform, as well as 1 or 2 Spanish contenders.

I cant wait for the mountains to start.

Limbo,

Yep, he won a stage earlier and the leaders' jersey, only to loose it later in the high mountains....

Then last day was a time trial, which he won, and ended 1 second in front of Jeger........

I look forward to the mountains

But first Portugal - Holland

maatjes with port :p

problem about doping is that the latest USADA investigations have shown that laboratories providing drug-enhancing drugs made undetectable to tests. Armstrong won his first tour when EPO was absorbed copiously thru-out the cycling profession.

I am rooting for hamilton, who really ran out of luck last year.

Well looks as if my July mornings for the next three weeks will begin at 5:30 with live coverage. I believe I closed last year's thread by saying I'd be rooting against Armstrong this year, which will be the theme this edition: Anyone but Lance. More of a TdeF specialist than the greatest cyclist ever, he will be attacked at all angles by every team to prevent an unprecedented sixth.

My prediction for the winner? Invaluable seasoning from last year's strong showing and ready to move up to the top echelon, Iban Mayo will surge to the lead in his native Pyrenees and have the mettle to hold on in the Alps. His team, (Eusk-Eusk) however, is undergoing the most intense doping scrutiny.
