Before it was a waste of time for me, similar to the review system although I did use that more often before I had ADSL. kc2000, bedides being lovey dovey etc, maybe you can come up with some positive citisism? And exactly how do you think they'll find out if the moderators allow them to get flamed for asking that question? Sorry, pal, but you are not making sense. Maybe if you could come up with a few specific cases of where you think the moderation here was too harsh, or what topics you think we censor which we shouldn't. Sanuk! Yes, the board is excrutiatingly (sp?) slow at times, even with broadband. The reason for this is that the database is being pounded continiously (60% of CPU time is being used for the db at any given time). The new board software we will start using soon will almost certainly take a big load of the database as it is written in a more optimized way so as to reduce the amount of queries to the database. Ive read before where you warn a poster because you dont like the tone of the post, if you dont like it let it go. I post here and have been banned in the past. I post the same things in other places and say the same thing and have not even been warned. Who gives a hoot about temples in a pussy forum? Same same for games. We do, up to a point. What percentage of people do you think we would lose if they were flamed on their first post? And what is the usual result of a flame? Yep, a return flame, which results in another flame to the return flame and before you know it the thread is lost as everybody besides the flamers is gone. A good example of what happens if you allow flaming is (was?) PaulC's Anything Goes board. He didn't stop any flaming, anything was allowed to be posted. Within a month or so all that was left were flamers, and the board was dead. "I post here and have been banned in the past." How come I am not surprised. Guess it explains some things, eh? "Who gives a hoot about temples in a pussy forum?" Who says this is a pussy forum? Last time I checked there was quite a bit more on here than just nightlife discussions. Sanuk! I have all but given up on other boards because of bad or zero moderation. Also, I don't know if moderation has anything to do with participation on other parts of the site? If he doesnt like what i post, as long as its not about child porn or the like , why doesnt he just ignore me. Moderators are just like referees in sports , they are doing their jobs when you dont know they are there. This moderator has way too many posts. This moderator thinks because he owns the board he is the board. I feel a ban cumming!!!
