Sometimes I think it is just your state of mind. There have been times when I have gone for stretches of a few days when nothing looks like its worth the effort and other nights where almost everything looks doable - and I don't think its so much that the girls were different but my mindset. This used to happen to me a lot when I first hit town whether in BKK or somewhere else - its such a change of life style from where I was coming from that it took a while to adjust - it all seems too much, too easy, too sleazy. Now though I just try to plunge right in even if it doesn't feel right - pick someone - I think to myself - if I was back in NYC not getting laid would I do this for $30 and the answer is always Yes. Its hard thereby to justify not going forward - and once you get that first one down it all falls into place and you get on a roll.

Reading your post I get the impression you have EXTREMELY demanding tastes when it comes to a ladies looks and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. There is a problem here though as you don?t seem willing to pay much over 1500B should you be fortunate enough to find a girl who measures up to your high standards.

 

This is not a flame in anyway, it just sounds to me like you have set standards that are unrealistically high for what you are willing to pay. So it?s not surprising to me you did not find what you were looking for and you had a very uneventful holiday.

 

On my last stay in BKK I visited Thermae almost every night for about two weeks - although strictly as an observer? Some nights were really bad, some were so-so and on several evenings (believe it or not ) I saw some real stunners in the joint. However, their interests seemed exclusively focused on the ever increasing Asian presence?

 

Most nights I also visited Cowboy and hit the ?pong several times as well. Didn?t spend much time in the NEP bars (too damn expensive!!) although I did manage to sample two girls from a gogo there - both of which I would consider very attractive. They each cost me 1500B plus BF for ST.

 

I stayed at the Nana hotel so I also had a good sampling of the late night action in the Nana parking lot and on the lower end of Sukumvit. Haven?t entered the Nana disco in years due to the high cover charge and entrance restrictions, so I can?t comment on that scene.

 

The remainder of my vacation (28 days) was spent in Pattaya where I guess I hit just about every damn bar worth going to at least several times, and the better ones many times.

 

So for what it's worth here are my observations and a comparison between the two:

 

Okay, in a nutshell the nightlife in BKK is not what it used to be and yes - I think the overall quality of the girls there has gone down a notch or two. However, other than New Year?s Eve I had zero problems finding girls who were acceptable in both quality and price - by my standards. What I do miss about BKK is the now restrictive gogo nudity policy (although this has loosened up some), high beer prices and the strictly enforced early closing time. The good news is there are still plenty of girls to be had even if you are picky ? just be prepared to dig a little deeper into your pocket?

 

In contrast, these days Pattaya is pretty much ?balls to the walls? in the gogo bars and I believe many of the best lookers have migrated down from BKK. Beer is cheaper, but don?t expect prices of Walking Street gogo stunners to be any less than those you would find in similar establishments in BKK. Also, to get back on topic - in my experience Pattaya has never had any decent freelancer joints like Thermae or BG7 and no after hours streetwalker scene other than the beach, which is absolutely dismal compared to the action available on lower Sukumvit.

 

 

The good news is that if stunners are what you are looking for you will find a better selection in Pattaya. Strangely, not that long ago It was the other way around? ::

 

Now the downside: Pattaya gets old after a week or two of hitting the bars every night and other than barhopping there is really very little to do there ? especially in the daytime.

 

Unfortunately, from your post I suspect you would have been just as disappointed if you had spent your holiday in Pattaya rather than BKK. I say this because it seems to me you are looking for near runway model quality girls at near BKK late night streetwalker prices, and I don?t think you are going to be very successful in finding this combination.

 

If true model quality beauty is what you are looking for you might consider some of the BKK escort services that specialize in this trade, but again - you had better be prepared to drop some major bucks in this pursuit.

 

BTW, I?m surprised you couldn?t find at least a few girls that were up-to-snuff in Poseidon as the few times I?ve visited the place it was wall to wall beauty, only problem was the difficultly in making a decision.

 

Anyway, hope this info helps and I didn?t come across as being criticle. Maybe next time have a few more beers and loosen up a bit, it's amazining how much better the girls look through beer goggles!

I suggest you go to Pattaya, check it out. Hundreds of beer bars, 40 to 50 go-gos or something like that. At beer bars you can find some beautiful women for 1000 baht L/T, diamonds in the rough

 

Or go to Angeles City, Philippines. Approx 2 hr drive north of Manila. 1000 to 1200 peso L/T, pay to bar, no further payment due. Many beautiful dancers, some just in from the provinces. I usually pick up the ones with no cell phone, great attitude, and most do NOT have tattoos

 

Its worth a trip by going to Angeles instead of Thailand, only 3 hour flight from Bangkok to Manila and checking out the nightlife and go-gos. Much cheaper than Thailand, and does not cost a fortune.

It's true I was extremely picky on this trip. There's a reason. For one, I came via Cambodia and hooked up with something fresh young and gorgeous there, so everything less gorgeous I was seeing in Bangkok for double the price or more was a letdown. So my mindset was to only move on something very worth moving on. I was ready to pay whatever it took, and actually with the one girl at Rainbow, I was actually sitting there with her considering taking up her offer. I'd have paid that much. The problem she was showing every sign of just wanting to close the deal and get the transaction over with asap. She seemed eager to leave, with another customer sitting at a table behind us obviously waiting for her. There was another girl in another bar I also would have spent that much for, but she wasn't working on my last night there so that was that. But with the other girl -- she wanted 2000, plus the bar fine 600 plus the mini-hotel 300. Now the 500 more for her as opposed to most other girls wasn't the deal killer. At first I was leaning toward doing it. The killer was the way she was trying to make me say yes or no so quickly -- just such a foretelling of what was likely to come if I went for it. I mean, if she couldn't even be bothered to make any reasonably gentle effort to convince me to pay for her, how good would ever she be in bed?

 

What I don't like about escort services is that (unless I'm missing something) you have to accept what shows up. You can't pick and choose. As you've all pointed out, I'm selective. And selecting is crucial to being selective.

 

So I also noticed the trend in Thermae, a certain gravitational pull that tables full of Asians (Japanese I suppose) tend to have on the hotter girls. Saw one girl go from one Asian table to the next, then skip mine and go to the Asian table on the other side of me. Couldn't have been more obvious. That's been going that way for awhile there. On an earlier visit I arrived there to a room full of Japanese. Little Tokyo. Barely any westerners. Spotted a girl I'd gone with previously there, went over to talk to her, and she wouldn't even talk to me, waved me away -- she didn't remember me, just had adopted a Japanese-only rule in the meantime.

 

Who konws anything about Siam Cafe? That one sounds like something I'd like to hear more about.

Well I guess everyone has its own taste. The thing I like most about LOS is the easyness to pick up nice companions for either LT or ST. I rate attitude a lot higher than just the mere looks.

 

I put in a lot of integrety, respect and lots of humor and that has NEVER failed me. There were a few, when I stopped the deal early. Mostly because of Language Problems, a few because of age-uncertancies and one because of sex-uncertancy . All the rest of my 1.000+ hits in 15 trips were winners.

 

Maybe I am just lucky - but I guess the my input (see above) does make the diffrence. My travelling-buddy (who I infected with the LOS-Bug) does operate on the same level with the exact positive results.

 

This is not meant to be bragging by any means, just trying to explain what made it work for me. Regardless of the location, be it BKK or Samui, be it Thermaiii, BG7, SC-Bierbar, Countryroads or some of the artist bars.

As to your problem with shelling out $75 for ST, why not shell out $65 (Baht 2000 + Bar Fine 600) for LT and take a girl back to your hotel room where you'll not only save on the cost of a short time hotel room (yuk) but can spend all night with the girl and have seconds, thirds or fourths in the morning which IMHO is much more enjoyable.

The answer is to spend as little time there as possible and get yourself down to Pattaya or Phuket.
