She is a recent grad of Thermasat (sp) and is a math teacher. Decnntly dressed etc... She told me the waitor was "...talking not nice..." to her. I asked why, she said maybe he thinks hooker and customer. So I said "I look like a hooker?" She laughed and said yes. I told her she didn't have to take that crap and we could go else where, or speak to the manager. She said no, I don't care, it's not true, and he is an uneducated scumbag (wonder where she learned that word...? O.k. from me), who was probably jealous that he couldn't get a nice girl to look at him because of his low status job, and no BG would look at him because he has no money. We went to WTC yesterday, and we definitely didn't get a second look from people as far as either one could tell. I have noticed that when I with an older Thai woman closer to my age, we don't get the stares either. The most nasty reactions I have gotten are from Farang women tourists. In the UK there is a huge and very powerful race industry complete with public enquiries everytime an asian shop keeper is called a "paki" in all my years I have never ever heard a peep out of the chinese community, they work hard, and then spend all their hard earned money in the casino. That is a stereotype, but Asians do seem to love to gamble ! I rarely go into our (lone) Casino here in BrizVegas, but we wre there the other night (end of the pub crawl) and at LEAST 50% of the clientele was Asian. Saddens me to see an attractive woman sitting at a poker machine, mindlessly pushing those buttons and watching the coloured lights - you only have to look at the Casino itself to see who wins the majority of the time - the house. We have also had a few instances where Mama has emerged from the Casino to find her children in Police custody - it seems that they take a dim view of you leaving the little tykes locked in the car for 9 or 10 hours whilst gambling ... Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Report Share Posted June 2, 2002 If I lived in Thailand I'd be very interested in meeting a Thai "regular" girl with the ultimate intention being marriage. Since I've only been able to get there for weeks at a time I haven't had the opportunity to cultivate this kind of relationship. Also I think it's foolish to marry someone that you only know because you've spent a couple of vacations with them, you talk to them on the phone occasionally (I miss you too much), and you get emails from them. Wanted to know when we were getting married etc.. said she wanted to come to my country and not teach but do anything at all! Turned out she was a mia noi to a cop who eventually got my home number and started making threatening phone calls. I'm definitely open to meeting GTGs if anyone knows any.. I did meet a really nice Thai girl from Ranong recently. She's a student and she calls me almost every day from BKK. I can speak some Thai and she had me chat to her friends last night... that cracked them all up. Any way, anybody comes across a GTG.... keep me in mind... I'm pissed off with the single life...
