Any US Embassy personal here?

Hi,

I just got a call from a good friend of mine (who used to post as Smiley) and he has a favor to ask. No, it's not about getting help in getting his gf a visa :)

The problem he has is that he needs to have his university (or high school?) diploma notarized. The school he went to is no longer around, so he cannot contact them.

He mentioned the US Embassy used to provide this service, but they stopped last friday!

So, if there are any people reading this who could help, I would really appreciate you getting in touch with me through PM.

Sanuk!

If that is all, then in theory I could do it as long as he has a US ID. But will that serve his purpose? That is, I am a legal notary, but does his employer (or whomever) recognize this or do they only want the embassy to do it?

And I'd have to find my notary shit, but it is around the office somewhere...

Cheers,

SD

Never heard of notarizing a diploma???

A notary will stamp a doc as being signed by a person.

No graduate with a diploma ever signed his dploma, as it is sgned by the school administrator...so to notarize it without the school administrator standing infront of the notary showing their ID...does not sound legit...IMO
