Bangkoktraveler
What are the best prices you guys have been getting from LAX to Bangkok? Any special programs, offers going on now? And what about upgrades, who has the best deals?

..
LOL, using Etihad would send you a looooong way out of the way! Doubtful cheapest from LAX. China Air is usually the cheapest. I just found some tix for mid-August for some friends on SQ for $1054 from LAS (the LAS-LAX portion on UA). Check their website. Things seem pretty pricey right now. Heck, the fuel surcharge & taxes on a free ticket (the bit that ain't free) I just booked for this week from LAS-BKK-LAS was B8,314. OCgringo
my ticket was $1350 but I got a 15% United discount coupon , so it ended up $1150 or so,,,, June 23 - July 13 LAX-Narita-BKK RT Plus they had a double FF mile promo too..... still pretty expensive compared to years before , But the FF miles are a big part of it , I got aboout 50k miles this trip , a FF ticket LAX-BKK is only 60K FF miles OC
Guest
see if you can find a "bucket shop" travel agent, they sell tickets lower than published rates. I have gotten eva economy delx class for just under $200 of the published rate. look for the itty bitty ads in the travel section of the sunday paper,, shop around

OCgringo
there are ads in the LA Times Sunday travel section , most are king of misleading because they do not say when the advertised fare is available , so it looks like a great deal but not when you want to go . it might be 2 months from now But I have had decent luck with them for flights to Frankfurt, never tried them for BKK.
