There's been an announcement from M$ regarding SP3 for WinXP. It's not specific but said 'first quarter 2008'. Some 335 MB to download.

I don't know if a successful WGA validation is needed to install SP3. However I am quite sure it will be available for shygye as well.

ie7 is more standards conform then ie6, now if you code for ie7, correct display is not guarenteed in ie6 anymore.

for ie6 a lot of work arounds were needed.

best solution is to make 3 scripts / css files depending on the browser needed.

XP is tsillt prefered by the majority of businesses.

Vista is still in beta as far as Im concered.

Hi,

just read some news regarding Windows XP SP3.

M$ released Release Candidate 1 RC1 of the Windows XP SP3. Now there's a rough schedule, SP3 should be finished first half 2008. SP3 will also be the last Service Pack for XP. However updates regarding security risks will be available until 2014.

I don't recommend installing SP3 RC1 because usually it's not possible to install the final SP3 over it.

Btw, IE7 is not part of SP3. You still have the option to decide whether you want IE6 or IE7.
