Hugh_Hoy
I'd recommend the Palin...stayed there a couple of nights. Looks like the best place in the city...though not "downtown", from the short drive through the city, not much to see you haven't seen before. Theres a "bar beer" across from the Palin, but don't know what might be on offer. Best to BYO, I think. HH
Old Hippie
Trip aborted...er again...due to weather and failure to get the bus on time...will reschedule for next month and maybe just fly up...how long should I plan on to see the main park, and I believe there is one about 50km away? samak
main park one day is enough! the one you mention 50Km away you mean probably Sri Sachanalani. rather similar than Sukhothai!

Old Hippie
Ok Ok. I made it last minute to Sukhothai! It is really nice, Pailyn Hotel is nice. Thanks for the info! Other places are close by. Will post full report and photos soon. A few beer bars near the hotel, Thai oriented Karaoke with food booze and "massage" rooms :hubba: Nice place, will come back and see more.
