Me.

I wouldn't mind being in a hotel at 11pm on New Years Eve.

It's thinking like "you HAVE to do this, you HAVE to send a special card on this day, you HAVE to have your best night on a weekend, you all HAVE to go to work at the same time" that bewilders me.

Who gives a shit? It's no big deal. Just another day. You could have a more fun day any day of the year. You don't have to follow this shit like sheep.

I was in Midnite on Christmas Day (they actually have some cuties!) and noticed they had a 'holiday barfine' of 1200B. Don't know whose definition of holidays they use - Thai, English, Arab?

Dollhouse Mamasan told me last night (NYE) barfines were 4,000 baht. Even so, several of the top girls appeared to have barfines as they were dressed in civies, and sitting with customers.

Makes good business sense to maximize profits on high-demand days, and it's up to each customer how much they want to pay. Personally, I have opportunities to have a great time with great ladies without paying significant extras to barowners, but have no issues with those who want to pay these fees.

I guess I grudgingly have to agree (have no issues with those who want to pay these fees).

But seriously, I cannot think of any bitch on that street that I'd pay 3x the BF for as my regular gals on 33.

I'm just sayin'. To each their own and all that. :dunno:

Cheers,

SD

SD, as you say each to his own. But I must admit I think anyone who'd pay 4k BF in Cowboy needs their head examined? But having said that I've never paid a third of that down 33 either. Partly coz I'm a tight cunt! :) But mainly because even though I enjoy drinking and socialising in soi 33 I just don't tend to regard it in that way. (as a place to pick up a shag) Don't want to mix the two I suppose?

Simie.

The only way to hurt these thieving bastards is not just to refuse to pay it when they takle the piss but to just never go back there again. If you just abstain for that time period then you are allowing them to take the piss out of you.

Though an owner myself, a few places have been permanently crossed off the visiting list this Xmas. Screw them.

Was in Pattaya on January 01. Some of the bars on walking street were also charging 4,000 baht bar fine on New Years eve all night. Most of the girls I talked to say they were very tired on Jan 01 as they had worked in the bar until 5 am closing time - no bar fine for them.

On the 2nd though the 7th, a two tier bar fine. The "Long time bar fine" in effect before midnight for 4,000 baht and the "Short time bar fine" of 2,000 baht after midnight.

I also concur that part of this pricing system is to sell more drinks. I had finished my drink in one walking street go go bar and told the service girl "later" when she asked me if I wanted another. 5 minutes later, I was visited by the manager (a pleasant but firm English chap) who told me that I either needed to buy a drink or leave. I pointed out I had been there 45 minutes, had bought a drink for me plus two lady drinks and would be happy to buy a third lady drink when my companion returned from dancing.

Not good enough, he said, drink or leave. As I had no intend to pay a 2,000 baht bar fine, I left. I have been kicked out of bars for drinking too much, but this is the first time I have been kicked out for drinking too little.
