Remember - Hitler was a Socialist That said - Russia paid more than anyone else for the war - 10 million soldiers as casualties - 17 million people and a fair few ore million from Stalin purges. Those 10 million causalities I think slowed up attacks on England and allowed the successful invasion of Europe - our allied supply ships didn't exactly save the Russian arses - they paid for it in hard lives.
