HeartThais
I don't understand the resistance to reducing air pollution and changing from oil based transportation and heating technology? Why do right-wingers think this is a bad idea? It's because the people who embrace climate-change are left-wingers.
..
To no one in particular. It cracks me up (in a sad way) how selfish people in general are. We have evidence that shit is going wrong. We are or are not responsible for it; who cares. BUT we know (from the best science available) that we can change it. Yet some are opposed to it because they may (or may not) have a few $$ removed from their wallet... Sad indeed. Do you not care about your grandchildren? WTF? Cheers, SD
rogueyam
Complete bullshit with more holes in it than colander, but if you're easily taken in, I guess it looks good. Thank you for this informative, detailed, and well-sourced reply. I know so much more now than I did before I read it. I am impressed that in addition to knowing everything there is to know about how the human mind works, you've also found time to become an expert on the global climate. But one must ask, didn't all of this climate research take time away from your leading-edge spacecraft design activities?

Why do right-wingers think this is a bad idea? Because it will cost an enormous amount of money, it will provide no benefit to the environment, and it will result in the government having much more control over individuals' lives. Additionally it is just boring and annoying to have to hear about it all of the time because it is all promoted in such trivial and sanctimonious terms. BUT we know (from the best science available) that we can change it. This is completely illogical. How can we know that reducing GHG emissions will have a beneficial effect on the global environment without knowing whether previous emissions have caused a harmful effect? It is not selfish to conclude that you are a retard, SD.
CTO
Sanddawg I agree with much you say - however as a leftie nut case - I think the problem is pollution. Someone thought I think as a PR stunt that by claiming we'll all die of global warming it would stop people polluting. I think the benifits of the FEAR of global warming are good in many cases bad in others. For example - rich nations got to use "bad" fuels for years and gasses - now they can afford expensive "good" fuels they expect poor countries to use the same "good" fuels. I think global pollution is awful - will it bring about global warming or cooling - who knows nor do I care - huge percentage of people die now from poisoning that's avoidable regardless. bust
The earth has warmed by about 1ºF over the past 100 years. But why? And how? Well, scientists are not exactly sure. The Earth could be getting warmer on its own, but many of the world's leading climate scientists think that things people do are helping to make the Earth warmer. Maybe, maybe not but all I know is a lot of money is being made addressing the "issue"

I'd show you the designs, but they are top secret....and you're too stupid to understand them... What amuses me is that you think a person can only specialise in one area of knowledge. How is it possible to know a lot of things?? RY is dumbfounded!
rogueyam
What amuses me is that you think a person can only specialise in one area of knowledge. How is it possible to know a lot of things?? As Christopher Essex and Ross McKitrick (in Taken by Storm) have observed: â??Global warming is a topic that sprawls in a thousand directions. There is no such thing as an â??expertâ?? on global warming, because no one can master all the relevant subjects. On the subject of climate change everyone is an amateur on many if not most of the relevant topics.â? Link
