khunsanuk
Hi, Noticed this at Asoke last week, as well as at Rama IX (Fortune) yesterday... metal detectors when entering the subway. Don't know about you guys, but I think they are seriously taking the piss with this crap. Not only do they cause delays and aggravation with their bag searches, now it's bloody metal detectors? And I am convinced it would still be extremely easy to get explosives or other crap inside as the guards are utterly clueless. Sanuk!
cavanami
Errrr, the metal detectors will NOT pick up on C4, the explosive the terrorists (and others) like. Security, worldwide, is all for show! If they were serious about security, take a stroll thru the Israel airport!
drogon
Missus is becoming pissed at subway security too... as well as her colleagues. I suppose someone gets a nice benefit for having useless security guards as well as for providing the metal detectors...
khunsanuk
Hi, "I suppose someone gets a nice benefit for having useless security guards as well as for providing the metal detectors..." Funny, I thought the same thing. Someone high up at the MRTA must have a family member or friend who sells metal detectors. Sanuk!
cavanami
There was a big scandal about the metal being bought from GE at a high inflated price, to pay off the "middle-man"...suddenly all this went away...Amazing Thailand!

Bangkoktraveler
Do the security guards have the metal detectors turned on? I mean, have they put the batteries inside the metal detectors?

unit731
Sadly, we now live in a world of fruit cakes, nuts, and fringe groups. And these boobs wish to copycat Madrid and London. Do they have extensive security cameras at each station? The Bombay job was partially an 'inside' job - at least what I read. If that is the case then all the security in the world will not make the stations secure.
khunsanuk
Hi, I think the biggest problem I have with this 'security' is that I believe it is all show. I am convinced that the guards have no idea how to recognize a bomb or what to do if by some massive stroke of luck they actually found one. Other than run like hell, of course So, it ends up being nothing more than a nuisance without any real benefit. Sanuk!
