Old Hippie
Anyone know a good place to stay in Trat, near the beach? Thanks.
khunsanuk
Hi, You probably mean in Koh Chang, right? Trat isn't on the beach. If I remember correctly it was about 30 min by 'minibus/taxi' from Trat to Laem Ngob. Of course that was 10 years ago Sanuk!
drogon
Few months ago I went to Koh Chang again. You land at the small (but nice) airport, then (if you haven't booked a car/minibus with an hotel) you have the minibus service waiting for you. Don't worry they are not going to rip you off and there is no need to negotiate as it is a flat rate and they all belong to the same "company". Just tell them the hotel you will stay at. From the airport you will travel to the ferry. (about 20-30 minutes) Nice quick travel on the ferry (maybe 30 minutes) then you land on KC and through the small road you will be lead to your hotel. If you stay at an hotel on whitesand beach I would say from the ferry PIER to there would take about 20-30 minutes (depending on the other passengers destination). Some hotels are really far from the ferry so you can sometimes expect 1hour of travel. Note: When your stay ends, be sure to check the weather forecast -> last time I went to KC we arrived at the airport to be told that due to the thunderstorm the plane from BKK wouldn't land. -> had to spend one more day on the island. About KC: Whitesand beach is the most "animated" and popular (nothing to do with sin city) but there are only a few guesthouses there (some not too bad from what I saw) Other hotels, mostly 4-5 stars are in more remote locations (need to rent a motorbike, which is the best way to travel on the island) Depends on your budget and where you want to be. Central Scrutinizer
Do you mean this song? Hotel Sisaket? Hotel Sisaket On a dark Isaan highway, hot wind in my hair Warm smell of kwai farts, rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering red light My little head grew and my wallet got thin I had to barfine her for the night There she stood in the doorway; I heard a Buddhist temple bell And I was thinking to myself, 'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell' Then she lit up incense and a candle and she led me away There were voices down the dingy corridor, I thought I heard them bray... Welcome to the Hotel Sisaket Such a lonely place He/She sat on my face Plenty of boom-boom at the Hotel Sisaket Any time of year, you can find her here Her mind is definitely twisted, she got the Benz yen She got a lot of pretty lady boys, that she calls friends How they dance in the rice fields, sweet somtam phet. Some dance showing their member, some dance with regret So I called the lazy bellboy, 'Please bring me my whine' He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since you asked the last time' And still those hookersâ?? voices are calling from up Sisaket way, Wake you up with a BJ in the middle of the night Just to hear them bray... Welcome to the Hotel Sisaket Such a lonely place He/She sat on my face They lovin' it up the arse at the Hotel Sisaket What a big surprise, right between her thighs Mirrors on the ceiling, The beer Chang over ice And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own strange vice' And in the masturbators chambers, They gathered for the farang feast They stab the kwai with their curved steel knives, But can't kill an already dead beast Last thing I remember, I was Running from some well hung katoey whore I had to find my Viagra pack To gain the erection I had before 'Relax,' said the lady boy, We are programmed to give AND receive. You can checkbin any time you like, but some farang never want to leave!

drogon
Excellent Cent Trat in itself doesn't really have nice beaches (nor bitches). Even if it costs a bit more: Take the bus to Trat then go to the ferry pier and you can easily find a very good guesthouse for 1-1500 bht on KC with the services of a good 3 stars. KC is for lovers or the peace of your mind -> if you want to party with BG you would be better off to Phuket or sin city
