It's not mad, just totally fucked up/disturbed. All carefully considered and worked out.

 

I think thats the definition of a sociopath - all that matters is the outcome, and other people are completely secondary. There was a furore a couple of years back when an academic released a report claiming that many of us are victims of workplace sociopaths, simply because their willingness to climb the corporate ladder on the backs of others is mistaken for a 'can do' attitude. When you read the preconditions for sociopathy, I'm not surprised that they are a lot more common than psychopaths:

 

sociopaths have relatively normal temperaments; their personality disorder being more an effect of negative sociological factors like parental neglect, delinquent peers, poverty, and extremely low or extremely high intelligence.

 

Not sure how culturally biased those criteria are, but how many sociopaths would you have in your neck of the woods based on that ? How many in your favorite bar ?
