..
That's very normal. The PM is never elected. The winning party chooses him (or there is a vote if the margin of victory is not enough). Cheers, SD
Mekong
Talk about Clutching at straws Mentors. As FM cleary pointed out Samak and Somchai were not elected by the people as PPP did not hold a majority to form the goverment and PPP got into power by formation of coalition goverment. When Kk'Abhisit was voted as PM it was a free vote in the house and everyone who was able to vote HAD BEEN elected by the people. So ipso facto Abhisit being voted as PM and installed by a House of Representavies Resolution (Exactly the same as Samak and Somchai) was far more democratic and transparent than the previous PPP PM's since elected representavies were allowed a free vote and not forced on mass to toe the party line and follow a coalition formed by their respective party leaders. ThaiHome
Worth also noting that the PPP was dissolved as required by a constitution that was passed by a overwhelming majority in a national plebiscite that if a party executive is convicted of vote buying. Since they had a video of him giving the money, it was pretty hard to not convict. TH
