Palatkik
Mother, Couch [2023 Movie] Three children are brought together when their mother refuses to move from a couch in a furniture store. Surreal art house theatrics, a strong cast in a soulless and empty story. Based on a Swedish novel.
Palatkik
Lee [2023 Movie] The story of American photographer Lee Miller, a fashion model who became an acclaimed war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II, photographing some of the Nazis worst atrocities. Some wonderful performances in this harrowing recreation with a neat plot twist at the end. Worth seeing.
Palatkik
The Substance [2024 Movie] A fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself. Takes surrealist blood, guts and gore to a new level. Superb stuff and the years best in the gross out genre.
bust
The Last Airbender The four nations of Air, Water, Earth and Fire lived in harmony until the Fire Nation declared war. Squanders its popular source material with incomprehensible plotting, horrible acting, and detached joyless direction.

Palatkik
The Apprentice [2024 Movie] The story of how a young Donald Trump started his real-estate business in 1970s and '80s New York with the helping hand of the infamous lawyer and protege Roy M. Cohn. Two solid performances in this exciting screen play shows us a snapshot in time, the ugly seeds being sown shown in restrained manner, of the guy who would later run in three presidential elections. Worth seeing for the movie alone whether you hate or like the guy. That the movie was released prior his third election run is no coincidence. Balmer rebuilt her life to confront Sweeney several years later after he was arrested for a further murder. This mini series is another example of exceptional quality TV, breath taking performances in this tense edge of seat crime drama that focuses on victim impact from both the killer and authorities. Palatkik
Midas Man [2024 Movie] On Thursday 9 November 1961, Brian Epstein descended the stairs to a cellar in Liverpool and changed the world forever. Nostalgic look back at the managers tragic life and the early Liverpool scene, comes across as a little too over polished in the screenplay to be real, but OK.
