Hamokhamok
Does this mean that picking up taxi at departures is no longer an option ?

ThaiHome
Why is it such a big bother for the airport whether tourists get in a taxi at the upper level? They don’t collect the 50 baht surcharge and it is not fair to the taxi drivers that have waited in line at the designated taxi pickup at arrivals. If the taxi that is bringing somebody to the airport wants to get a fare back into the city, he should circle around and wait in the line. Specialist
Exit the customs chute at Suvarnabhumi. This puts you on what USED to be the main departures level. Unfortunately, the limo company worked a deal with the airport, and they now own that level. The taxi stand is one level down. Take the long escalator or the elevator down one level, go outside, and look around. You will see the taxis, and the taxi stand. The cost is the meter, plus tolls if applicable, plus 50 baht taxi stand stud fee. You pay ALL of this to the driver when you arrive. To lower Suk, meter + stud fee will be less than 350 baht, and tollway tolls will be less than 100 baht. (The tolls are fixed, but I don't remember the total, just that it is less than 100 baht.) Flashermac
85 baht tolls, I think. Been some time since I did it though.
Coss
I've found the Taxi stand Taxis at Suvarnabhumi to be OK, unless you arrive with family and 3 large suitcases, when they will force you into a van and charge you double or triple , even though you could get into a normal taxi. The "skip upstairs and get an incoming taxi" trick was worthwhile at Don Muang, but now, not worth it at Suvarnabhumi.
limbo
It worked out very fine, found it easily and the system worked, payed around 250,-THB incl the 50,-THB surcharge from the airport to S31. Going back to the airport the next day for a domestic flight, it seems more difficult now to get a taxi there when you have a lot of luggage, there are now dedicated drop off areas for passengers manned by security. Flashermac
I try to use Don Muang for domestic flights, but the SOBs are putting a stop to that. Some politicians and their friends stand to make millions off of building a domestic expansion at Swampypoom.
