Well, I am missing that very special atmosphere of Bangkok and the bars of Washington Square.

I had so many sexy adventures with some of the girls. Sweet, very sweet!

An old song comes to my mind. Here is my version of a very melancholic song:

Well, show me the way

To the next gogo bar

Oh, don't ask why

For if I don't find

The next gogo bar

I tell you I must die …..

Oh, moon of Bangkok

I now must say goodbye

I've lost my good old gogo bar

And I must have whiskey, oh, you know why

Well, show me the way

To the next beautiful girl

Oh, don't ask why

For if I don't find

The next beautiful girl

I tell you I must die

I tell you we must die

Original lyrics by the German playwrite, dramatist, Bertolt Brecht; music by German composer Kurt Weill.

Performers: many German actors and singers.

International: The Doors, David Bowie and many others.

Guten Tag, sawasdee krap dear Mr. OG alias Flashermac.

The Washington Square. It is a good proposal for day time fun, isn't it?

Washington Square is like a time capsule of Bangkok in the 1970s and '80s. Not so much left now - The Lone Staar is closed, Wild Country is too ... :(

Mekong Kurt is back and writing his column though. :)

Yes, I know that Texas Lone Staar is closed. The old landlord George Pipas died about 2 years ago.

This is what Mekong Kurt – the master of the "squaronians" - wrote in one of his comments:

"The Lone Staar is a legend in its own right, as was it's late owner, the widely-known (among Old Thai Hands anyway) George Pipas.

The bar attracts mostly Western expats, many of them oil field workers or military (currently serving, ex-, and retired), and the odd executive, teacher, etc. Regulars make up the bulk of the patrons, as is true of Washingtton Square bars generally. Tourists occasionally wander in, though most find themselves in Washington Square quite by accident, as the area is minimally covered, if at all, by mainstream tourist websites and publications. Locally-based websites focused on this type of place do a somewhat better job."

I can recommend the bars of the Washington Square. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the girls.

There are some rough gems among them. Open your eyes and see with your eyes and with your heart.
