Guest lazyphil
Actually that's not a Nazi salute. It had been done with the right hand, not with the left. senile nasty nazi
Redbaron
kamuis link actually states it's to be done with the right hand... not the left unless the person has some form of physical disability - same as other salutes (done with the right). Yep, Walther Troeger must be a Nazi. Just read his biography in regard to previous olympics: ---- He was mayor of Munich Olympic village in 1972 and offered himself in exchange for Israeli hostages during the Black September terrorist attack. In 2004 he complained to an IOC meeting about Germans wearing t-shirts reading: "Blitzkrieg - it's only a game." Horneytorney
6 Golds for Team GB today and 3rd in the medal table! 11 resp. 10 gold medals behind USA and China; host countries usually get the most medals! what is the contribution of the Scots to those 10 Gold medals for Team GB? Mekong
host countries usually get the most medals! Do they? 1964 TOKYO 1. USA 36-26-28-90 4. Japan 16-5-7-28 1968 MEXICO CITY 1. USA 45-28-34-107 15. Mexico 3-3-3-9 1972 MUNICH 1.Soviet Union 50-27-22-99 4.West Germany 13-11-16-40 1976 MONTREAL 1.Soviet Union 49-41-35-125 27 Canada 0-5-6-11 1980 MOSCOW 1. Soviet Union 80-69-46-195 1984 LOS ANGELES 1.USA 83-61-30-174 [1988 SEOUL 1. Soviet Union 55-31-46-132 4. South Korea 12-10-11-33 1992 BARCELONA 1. Soviet Union 55-31-46-132 25. Spain 1-1-2-4 1996 ATLANTA 1. USA 44-32-25-101 2000 SYDNEY 1. USA 37-24-33-94 4. Australia 16-25-17-58 2004 ATHENS 1. USA 35-39-27-101 15. Greece 6-6-4-16 2008 BEIJING 1. China 51-21-28-100 2 USA 36-38-36-110 So going back over the previous 12 Olympics ie ones held since I have been alive on only 4 occasions have the host nation finished top of the medal table (as in golds won) even in 2008 USA won more medals than China in Beiling. 1980 and 1984 results are slightly skewed due to USA boycotting Moscow and Soviet Union boycotting Los Angeles so in fact the 1996 Atlanta games are the only ones where it can be said that the host nation won the most medals. Sort of blows your "The Host countries usually get the most medals" comment into a cocked hat does it not?
