2 Nazi in the german team as a matter of fact!

- the guy at the opening ceremony with the heil hitler salute (a left handed Nazi)

- the female rower who was sent home

are there more?

Yep, Walther Troeger must be a Nazi. Just read his biography in regard to previous olympics:

----

He was mayor of Munich Olympic village in 1972 and offered himself in exchange for Israeli hostages during the Black September terrorist attack.

In 2004 he complained to an IOC meeting about Germans wearing t-shirts reading: "Blitzkrieg - it's only a game."

2008 BEIJING

2 USA 36-38-36-110

So going back over the previous 12 Olympics ie ones held since I have been alive on only 4 occasions have the host nation finished top of the medal table (as in golds won) even in 2008 USA won more medals than China in Beiling.

1980 and 1984 results are slightly skewed due to USA boycotting Moscow and Soviet Union boycotting Los Angeles so in fact the 1996 Atlanta games are the only ones where it can be said that the host nation won the most medals.

Sort of blows your "The Host countries usually get the most medals" comment into a cocked hat does it not?
