gobbledonk
Thought I'd give their registration form another shot - I'm starting to think these bastards just dont want someone like me as a member. Sadly, they wont even accept my email address now. Yahoo email address NOT allowed! I'm stuffed if I can see how a Yahoo email account is any different to the bazillion or so 'freebie' email accounts available out there, Fuckers. Coss
They were getting truckloads of spam/phishing/other issues through the Yahoo, and apparently Yahoo, didn't do, much about it...

khunsanuk
Hi, Can kinda understand it to be honest. These free accounts account for a very large percentage of spam accounts, although here it seems t be mostly gmail. Would love to disallow those but can't really Sanuk! gobbledonk
Thanks for the explanation guys - this was less about TV than the concept that anyone trying to join up with a free email account must be a nefarious evildoer, but it makes sense if so much of their spam is being generated from those accounts. I just dont know anyone who is willing to use a work email address for web forum correspondence - HR in this country seems to see themselves as the guardians of public decency, to the point of hiring propellorheads to look for digital footprints. Orwell foresaw all of this in the early 1950s - he was just a little hasty with his dates.
Mekong
He wrote 1984 in 1947-1948 on the Isle of Jura Scotland, he transposed the last two digits of 48 to come up with the title 1984, first published in 1949.
