huumlaar
I like all the spy's I meet in Bangkok, who needs Snowden or wikileaks when the spooks are just sitting on bar stools telling every one "well, I can't tell you what I really do but " nudge nudge wink wink, :tuxedo: :tuxedo: :tuxedo:

baa99
The funny thing is there are a bunch of spies in Bangkok! It's just that the spies claim to be English teachers! Australian intelligence sources recently confirmed to Fairfax Media that Australia's electronic espionage agency, the Defence Signals Directorate, is a "full partner" in the program, which they said "overwhelmingly harvests diplomatic, political and economic intelligence, not just information relating to terrorism and security". gobbledonk
One of the boffins - former Aussie diplomat, now working in Washington - claims that even after the bulk of Australian and American forces are pulled back from Afghanistan, Coalition special forces will still be deployed in the most dangerous regions. He claims the Afghan Army is much improved (could they be any worse than the ragtag bunch we see in the footage ?), but their Police remain a lost cause : at best, IMO, it will be another Somalia - at least the warlords can be bought. Another Taliban-style regime and that's >12 years and countless lives down the drain.
think_too_mut
The degeneration Snowden went through is based on 4 pillars: Google (he thinks he knows something) FaceBook, hundreds of like minded people Twitter, thinks someone of importance cares about him Apple iPhone, dangle colorful icons, a caveman grins Where did he end up? In the lap of a ruthless spook who was killing people like him with polonium or by a miniature blow pipe sending a miniscule poisoned ball into their neck. Spying has been there since one hairy tribe got the idea of a a wheel from another wild tribe. Degeneration of that Snowden boy is like of those from the "Occuppy" movement. TroyinEwa/Perv
I think he must be extremely smart and speak numerous languages cuz English doesn't seem to be his first. Many a poster cannot understand his posts. Or maybe he is just so far beyond our comprehension........more than likely, that is it.
Plainsdrifter
I believe our collegue was referring to President Putin, a former spook.
think_too_mut
Putin, of course. Where Snowden ended up is as important as his degeneration.
Flashermac
I thought it was clear as a bell. A guy offended by spying runs into the arms of an ex-KGB officer for protection. Snowden's idealism is admirable, but his knowledge of the real world is seriously lacking.
