bust
I guess maybe he just decided that he was not going to be another farang to have the shit kicked out of him by a pack of savage thais like we see so oftem and probably he has as well after living there for 10 years. Unless he confessed to murder not sure how they can charge him so quick without conducting a proper investigation. Buts as Frash said.....TIT

baa99
Yes, he should have just accepted his fate of being beaten to death by a mob of Thais.
Mekong
Maybe if he had not attempted to photograph the altercation the "Thai Mob" would have ignored him
Flashermac
Just off hand, how many Australians have been murdered in Phuket in the last few years? p.s. Minding your own business is often a good idea.
Guest
This case is becoming complicated for sure, I would have thought any legal argument of self-defence cannot include killing. The force used in his self defence is disproportionate to his own injuries. But hey, i'm not a lawyer, and it will boil down to legal argument, how this works out is anyone's guess. An unfortunate case, of everyone being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
khunsanuk
Hi, "The force used in his self defence is disproportionate to his own injuries." If someone points a loaded gun at you and you shoot him before he can fire, it is self-defense yet you have no injuries at all. Just an example to point out that there is no correlation between amount of injuries and whether something is self-defense or not. Sanuk!
buffalo_bill
At an earlier stage of my unfinished studies in law I have once written a piece about " Putative excess during self defense " . The article to my endless disappointment did not receive the deserved worldwide attention although I offer my assistance in this case . Can travel .
