baa99
China usually reports like 30 deaths caused by the flu each year.
zzzz
Do you have a link for that 30? It’s highly unlikely that only 30 people in China died from the seasonal flu.

baa99
I wonder about the Thai military. The military bases would be an ideal place for the CV-19 to spread rapidly.
Steve
As I have repeated. China has no transparency. They tell you the number they want. China claims less than 3,000 deaths. Last I read about 2600 or give or take a hundred. If Italy has 4,000 total, there is no way China has that low. My guess based on Italy and extrapolating it to Wuhan and China in general, its minimally 10 times as many given size and scope. My guess is China got overwhelmed with tens of thousands of deaths in in a matter of weeks and seriously ill in the hundreds of thousands. They were building a hospital every 10 days. They couldn't cope with the rise. They having to lockdown a whole province and having to public admit to the world there was a problem, it must have grown so fast exponentially they saw a global pandemic happening before their eyes. That is amazing. I was thinking it would be more like 50,000 - 100,000 deaths based on a CDC estimate of 300,000 - 600,000 deaths worldwide this season. They could be fake numbers. Unbelievable. zzzz
It’s been estimated by a respected COVID-19 team that about 1-2 million will die in the US from this virus, even more than the pandemic of 1918 that killed about 675,000.
baa99
The world population in 1918 was less than 2 billion. It is now over 7 billion.
