Hi,

Yeah, you might be right about residency. This is what I read though:
"During the CCSA meeting, the Ministry of Public Health affirmed that all people who reside in Thailand, regardless of their nationality, are eligible to receive the vaccine under the government’s plan."

As usual though, this being Thailand, who the fuck really knows :(

Sanuk!

So, it comes down to the interpretation of the definition of “RESIDE”

RESIDE.  “To dwell permanently or for a considerable amount of time”

59 minutes is a considerable amount of time out of an hour but not a day

6 days is a considerable amount of time out of a week but not a year

11 months is a considerable amount of time out of a year but not a decade

And so on

If they mean in rather than say reside they should say people on PR, Elite Visa, Investment Visa, Business Visa, Education Visa, Marriage Visa and Retirement Visa are eligible for free vaccination under governments plan

As always in Thailand there are more questions than answers.

Update: .... Although a private hospital doctors have assured her there will be no charges as it comes under the Government funding.

I told her to get it in writing :)

  • 2 weeks later...

So she is out of hospital with zero bill to pay and has hightailed it back to Ubon 😊

Not sure I would want to be in BKK at the moment either
