Been to Siam more than a hundred times since 1996 and it is gradually getting less frequent now. My farewell trip one day shall take me to the Isaan Rocket Festival, the Mekong and finally Honey Bee Massage Soi 22. The latter on condition I can still walk upright.

Isan saussages, love them.
From Khon Kaen to Korat, stalls along the road. In a good restaurant, they are delicious (Si Saket hotel restaurant). They come as an entree meal, the 2nd picture.
I would not buy them from the road stall, would not eat them from there. 15 balls for 100 THB.
My wife said the saussages have to be grilled. But, stiil, the road seller has a mask, from the road fumes and dust, the mercahandise does not have it.

Those Isan saussages, come in 6 different flavors. Si Saket.
We buy them in Japan when we encounter them, 300THB, frozen, export from Thai certified.

Travelling from Khon Kaen to Korat...peaceful Isan landscape.
And then, maybe 30km before Korat, this. The airplane, registered as HS-TEH, Airbus A330 that skid the runway coming from Guangzou (China). September 8th, 2013. Written off. Been on that very plane from Nagoya to Bangkok, 2011.
Someone got paid to drag it out, reconstituded it at this Isan field, now entertainment area with lots of parking and a cluster of small restaurants attached. My 4th time there.

Maha Sarakham. A little known place outside of Isan (22 million people). My wife wanted to meet them, the woman is her FaceBook friend and her age peer.
The couple have 3 kids, the eldest one is a student at Maha Sarakham University, electrical engeneering, lives away from her family.
Poor people they are but doing their best to support her.

The picture, the lady guided us to their home.

My wife makes them at home, not bad. I’ve made them a few times but they tend to be a bit dry, more fat added should fix that. I have made a lot of sausages in my times, recent;y invested in a 2kg sausage stuffer, works great!

No harm in naming yourself, we all know and didn’t really want to say anything for fear of hurting your feelings…but it is ok, I have an old brownie I can loan you and with a little practice, you will be ok… To be fair, you are already better than 1-2 or 7 posters from a bygone era who couldn’t take a picture unless it was staged…
