What Film (Movie) Have You Just Watched?

Recommended Posts

The Railway Man (2013)

A former British Army officer, who was tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him.

Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Stellan Skarsgård

Very good, moving even.

Knight Of The Cups [2015]

Terrence Malick makes some weird sh!t and that's a good thing, but this movie is barely a movie, more a string of nice images strung together with some well known actors improvising throughout. A waste of time for some.

The Survivalist [2015]

Wonderfully gripping low budget drama about the price of food, sex and life in a post apocalypse world. Worth watching.

Inherent Vice [2014]

Same director as for “There Will Be Bloodâ€, another book adaptation set in 1970 USA with some interesting drug filled scenes in an overly long private investigator kidnap comedy plot that is hard to follow at times.

The Walk [2015]

Designed for best viewing in a large 3D IMAX immersive screen, which I couldn't do, left me preferring the original documentary of same story Man On Wire [2008] which is more real without the fake accents and CGI. Not bad tho!

The Forest

Thai movie made by Englishman Paul Storier.

Made about 50km from our village in Sakon Nakorn.

Quite a well made movie, some nudity that was appreciated some not sure why there.

Not bad but my Thai family and friends didn't understand the ending. I had to explain to them. Some things i suspect don't cross cultural barriers. Heaven and Hell was a bit British.
