I Need A Wolfpack! The Hangover 2.5

Come on KS, you know I can be a pedantic prick even with out even putting my mind to it, 555.

To the OP.

I am based in Pattaya during the week and in BKK at the weekends but I am boring old fart that is no fun to hang out with anymore.

Washed up on the "Sanuk Scene" maybe 12 years ago now and just tend to socialise with other expats, co-workers and Long Term residents alike occasionally for dinner and maybe a couple of drinks, my bar hopping days are well behind me. It is a challenge to hold down a responsible job whilst being based in Pattaya so I choose to put my career ahead of a night of hedonism but I always meet a few guys most nights who are here on holiday and "Up For It", I just wave them off on a night and listen to their tales the following evening.

Guess what everyone!

I'm back in Thailand on short notice. I managed some time away from work and booked a flight straight away. I arrive on september 4th and am there until the 17th. So whos in town, either BKK of Pattaya and wants to catch up for a beer and maybe show me around their version of BKK or Pattaya.

I need the full wolfpack/hangover experience :)

Cheers

Griff

There used to be regular Friday night meetings, but they sort of died for lack of attendance. We had a nice turnout week before last, so there might be a possibility next Friday ... if anyone is up for it. (I'll be too busy. :( )

Have to agree with you, Kongs rambling shite about himself was totally irrelevant. Just surprised he didn't mention his salary.

Show me ONE example when I have ever made reference to a specific salary, come I dare you either put up or shut it!

Now as for your rambling shite about visiting distilleries in Skirt wearing land do you actually think anyone gives a fuck?

Right, so Mekong offers to show a newbie around and you slam him for it, shortly after starting a thread titled 'What I love about this forum' and berating the rest of us for our 'negativity'. Cute.

If your attack on Mekong is your version of 'good-natured bickering', then I really don't want to start another thread. We've all been here for years, and we know one another's idiosyncrasies (and past transgressions) intimately, but I cant see how a bunch of cranky old bastards sniping at one another is ever going to attract new blood to this board. KS would be better served by 30 gushing newbies who spent their days regaling one another with the hedonistic joys of a night upstairs in NEP or wherever.

End of sermon.

I propose we all stop complaining and celebrate what this forum is about. There's a danger that criticism can take on a life of it's own, and like a rolling boulder giving it a momentum never intended. What I love about this forum:

* The people. There are some very interesting people here to talk to. I feel honoured to be a member.

* The camaraderie. The goodwill and rapport. So sometimes we bicker and fight - but in the end it's good natured.

* The openness. Censorship is only really restricted to abuse. A very sensible policy.

* So it's not busy enough and I would concede that, but quality is more important than quantity any day of the week whether I'm talking about drinks or girls.

I just want people to appreciate what we do have for a moment. Jesus - take a moment and sniff those roses - otherwise, we'll always sound like whinging pommies and that - that is untenable.

Cheers to the board and let me know what you love about it!!!

Thanks to those of you who made genuine replies. As an FYI the original post was actually meant to be made in humour I most definitely am not looking for a hangover katoey experience. It was more symbolic of lets go out and have a ripping good time.

Anyway, i've been a lurker here on this forum for some years and it even helped me massively on my first trip to BKK but at this stage i'm not really feeling it anymore so I might leave you all to it.

Thanks again for those who made genuine replies.

Ahhh don't be like that, ignore the old men in the corner.

There's people who'll turn up to the occasional meeting and go on to purchase hangovers, but they often tend to make plans a day or so out. As mentioned the meetings thread will serve you well. If I was there and then, I'd jump at the opportunity...
