BelgianBoy
WYD, I know I am due to attend a service on xmas eve at St Stephans in Dusit, that is a catholic service and probably in Thai only. What about that Protestant church on Suk soi 19 ? Cheers !
whosyourdaddy
Got this from the international church at Bangkok Christian college....... We will have 1 service on Christmas Eve and none on Christmas Day. The Christmas Eve worship will begin at 8 pm, in the auditorium of the Bangkok Christian College (Sathron Road and Soi Pramuan). The service will include our choir, some special music, Holy Communion, and a candle-lighting ceremony. Following the worship, there will be a time of fellowship for those who have gathered that evening. I do hope you will be able to join us for this celebration of Christ's birth. Guest lazyphil
Reminds me last xmas eve I took my mrs to a local 11th century church for a service and a sing song---the church is pretty small but full of atmosphere and she almost soiled herself walking through the churchyard at night with owls hooting and bats darting around--sorry I cant help but I thought I'd share this as its church related. My mrs does tell me there is a church in Pakkret someplace but shes not exactly sure where
Guest lazyphil
Just did a websearch for you (its Christmas so I feel benevolent ) and found this --bit out of town and looks a bit kind of wacko to me but it might fit the bill? Steve
Maybe its more out of habit than conviction but when I was planning a long term stay in Pattaya I was looking for a church there. Pattaya127, I'm expecting a 'Porn-Again Steve' comment, don't disappoint me. :: Lazyphil, what does the Mrs. think of church services?
Guest lazyphil
CS--I think she enjoyed it alot--my sister was playing the organ too--its in a very small quiet village and like alot of churches they have inadequate heating and in December what with stone walls they get very chillsum--I'm on bloody nights this xmas and cant go--not that I'm a big church goer but its nice and festive thing to do. khunsanuk
Hi, No offence guys, but I find this so hypocritical. People who never attend church all of a sudden need to go for Xmas, and preferably sit way in front as well. Sanuk!
Bhat_Man
We [the lads] used to go for Christmas but sat at the back flicking rubber bands at the baubels of the Xmas tree..... wanton vandilism...I ask ya! :: That was the only time we went and are vocal attributes were always appreciated by the vicar after the service. Mince pies and mulled wine. Midnight Mass, what memories!
