Here is a portal for Thai speakers;(not tested)

http://www.msn.in.th/sms/

http://www.siampeople.com/sms/

http://www.esmszone.com/

Complete list; Thai SMS list

By far the most reliable are the dedicated AIS and DTAC portals supplied earlier.

Thanks one and all. :applause::bow:

I had hoped the Yahoo messenger to mobile service would work......but so far no positive results. The Gfs in the country side and her mobile service (and land line) is hit or miss most of the time. She has a DTAC SIM starts with 01xxxxxx.

Unfortunately she has not received any of the SMS I send Via Yahoo, although there is no idication from Yahoo that they didn't get through.

It may well be that she needs to register the phone with DTAC and/or Yahoo to receive Int'l SMS messages :dunno: The problem is that even Internet is difficult where she is. She waited 2 hours yesterday to try to get connected at the Internet shop and couldn't.... so it's going to be tricky to even explain this all.

Guess we'll have to move the rice farm closer to town or I'll just have to get my act together and get back ASAP ::

No problem. If all you want is to show someone that a "thai" number can actually be from overseas .......... just PM me your number and I'll give you a call from Canada and you can make your point. ::

Maybe quicker to move the farm. :cover:

I hope you figure this out tho. I sure can't. Don't know if it is the registration she has to do or what. Of course the SMS thing is fractured here mobile phone wise, that is why I am also trying the internet option. (or rather waiting for you to solve the internet option).

Normally because the person on the other side has the option set on their phone to "reply via own center only".

Happens to me all the time here in Thailand, and trying to explain to the other person to change this option is difficult. I know this because my phone will give me a note on the incoming sms when the person has this option set. Didn't know that it would work for overseas phones but since the symptons were the same I took a guess.

Glad that it work.

Cheers!
