Still used a lot in the contractor and defense circles.

True, and not necessarily in a derogatory way, just depends on the individual using it, although the term is innately offensive, I suppose. Reading the suffix PBR (powered by rice) just cracked me up - hadn't heard it for a while.

I heard the term a few times during the Vietnam War, but it wasn't common. I've been told it was created by the Brits in Singapore or Malaysia. Nowadays, you encounter it on porn sites trying to sound like they know what they are talking about, with their pics of Thai models named "Reiko Wong" or "Miko Kim". :p

I used to work with a very pretty girl from the Batan Islands in the P.I. who moonlighted for a website called hollywoodasians.com, where she did video chat. They gave her one of those funky Jap names, all the girls had them. They also paid her about 40 bucks for two nights work before she quit.

Why they would take a beautiful girl from an exotic place and give her a Japanese porn star type name is beyond me.

She was fun to work with, though, and a major league prick-tease. We'd meet for lunch or ciggy breaks on the rooftop. One time when she was sitting there on the secluded rooftop, she asked me, as an older man, if I could see most girls holes when the spread their legs because, "when I look in a mirror, I can't see mine."

You don't need to ask what my reply was.
