Apparently he and two American girls who are on the same TEFAL training course with him went out for a drink in Bang Pe where he is currently based and a couple of Thai blokes were coming on to the American chicks and they were having none of it.He was escorting one of them home when the aformentioned Thai guys emerged from a dark opening armed with baseball bats and gave him a good hiding "Casino"style.30 stitches to the head and several broken fingers recieved whilst he was trying to protect his head as well as concusion. Carew's a star and doesn't deserve that, no matter what the circumstances were. :: Knowing the man as I do, I am 1000% confident that he would not have been "asking for it" in any shape or fashion. As Sayjann says though, at least he's still with us. A mate of mine was murdered 10 years ago in a similar incident in Cambodia i.e. got into a brawl with locals after attempting to stop a fight over a woman. Doesn't make it any less shocking or any less wrong, though. Get well soon, Carew. Still hope to see you in BKK in August. jack PS. Don't know the guy but he seemed to pretty much mind his own business and not looking for trouble. I hate it when innocent people get involved with those pathetic trouble-seekers.
