khunsanuk
Hi, "Religion is the most holy what Thais have" And you think for one instance that they would not make a mockery of Jezus or another (non-Buddhist) religious figure? The thing is that this is yet again a case of double standards, plain and simple. Sanuk!
pattaya127
I notice 2 things always happen when thais are offended by something happening out of their borders, all notwithstanding their right to feel insulted: -they are not happy to express discontent, they demand removal of offending matter, and always bring up the "other means' argument. -they always succeed. Except in Afghanistan (Buddhas cannoned to rubbles). But it takes them years at home years to defrock, maybe.... monks who embezzle money, sleep around and father children. Something's wrong with this picture. Perhaps we should lodge complaints and seek other means in those matters too, then .....

Nervous_Dog
Pattaya I was going to say the same thing! And not to mention the wacky Budhists here like Tamgagai Temple, whose main building is shaped like a UFO from teh 50's except its a few hundred metres across and two - 3 stories high! Flashermac
So try insulting Muhammad in a Muslim country and see what happens to you ... p.s. I've never seen any Thais mocking other religions.
cardinalblue
Don't know about the nazi helmets but have seen a number of young thai people (usually on the sky train) displaying the swastika symbol (button, patch or printed material and even once a tatoo). I find it quite disturbing. My assumption is that these people are just plain ignorant and uneducated about history or just insensitive. Maybe I am under estimating their cognitive abilities; I hope not.... Cardinalblue
BelgianBoy
CB, Maybe you are ..... The swatiska is originally an Indian symbol, only copied by the nazis. You can find the swatiska in decorative alements all over Asia. Not defending the use of it..... BB
