expat Posted April 29, 2006 Report Share Posted April 29, 2006 I'm not replying to anyone specifically. I subscribe to a usenet server. Tons of TV, Wares, Movies, Movies, Games, Smut. The thing is you don't have to share, so your ADSL is maximised--you don't have to waste bandwidth uploading things. 20Gigs costs $10 on Easynews, but there are much cheaper deals. It's a bit intensive learning how to grab stuff, but once you can, torrents seem slow and painful. I usually take about 3 hours for a gig with my 1024/256 connection from TOT. If you turnoff some of the plugs in Azureus (like it's own tracker) it works pretty dang well and doesn't really hog too many resources.
