I dunno about anyone else but as I have a memory like a sieve, whilst I DO recognise a lot of names...........I can never remember what folk I get on with , or usually any of their previous posts.

so I know I am not the only one. I obviously have clear impressions of certain posters and even prior discussions, but for 90% of the posters I cannot remember who said what even a week ago. The exceptions stand out.

 

Even though I post a fair amount and a regular group of posters regularly take issues with my views and I do remember who they are, most of the rest I don't remember. June11 is a good example - have I argued with him before? If so, it certainly didn't create a lasting impression. And I have received what I consider strange posts a few times where I really wonder if posters are confusing me with someone else. I am not just talking about the WG thing. A few posts (private and public) have really come out of left field, commenting on things I have never even considered let alone discussed.

 

If there is thread where I am going back and forth with someone, sure, I remember that poster and it's easy to see what he said before. (Now that is the strange thing - the inconsistencies you will see in a single thread; that I notice.) And, of course, a few of the regular posters where I know there views. But the vast majority of members, sorry...

 

Actually, David66UK is a good example. I recognize the name, but unless I started doing a search, I couldn't tell if you if we agreed, disagreed or completely ignored each other in the past. Do you remember?

 

I obviously don't commit enough time and energy to this board. Other things to do. :: And I suspect it will stay that way unless I take up a career as a convenience store clerk in New Yawk.

I can't say I noticed a lot of cheap shots in your bar-owning thread. If you had (and forgive me if I'm incorrectly suggesting you're inexperienced) you would know that a lot of mongers have very mixed feelings about bar owners and for you to suggest that it's every foreigner's dream to own a bar is to misread the general tenor of the board.

 

As it is, if you have such a strong reaction to what I'd consider some fairly gentle difference of opinion then you should probably reconsider your bar-owning dream. I understand that many disagreements arise in that field, and not all resolutions are gentle. Good luck in any event.

My feelings, and the reason I posted, was that I get a lot of good info from this board. It's not just a place i come for 'entertainment', one of my goals is to live in thailand again and I look at this board as a staging area.

 

With that I am going to make an actual effort to post more clearly and effectively to give something back. The apologies were just to clear any baggage i may have dragging along behind me.

 

Sanddawg1 - Sometimes when you hold something up as a 'dream' it has more meaning to you than the person reading. Give the board a second and third chance regardless of what you pursue.

WOW!!! I log back in and look @ the responses! As usual it is the same cast of Negative Nelly's that are piling in. The same guys that hate to believe that someone doesn't moan and groan and has a good time in their life.

The same group of guys that never have a positive thing to say and hide behind "Taking the piss" and other devices.

The same group of guys who want others to be miserable like them. Misery sure does love company and u fellas yuk it up well with each other.

Basically guys who are so unhappy with their own lives that they want in their heart of hearts to be like JJsushi. Their dicks get HARD thinking about the Sushi! When JJsushi posts; like the good camp followers they are, they come flying into the thread with pathetic attempts to shred the Sushi! They try to battle the Sushi but the Sushi is too powerful for them. They lose all logical, factual and intellectual debates against the Sushi, so they can only resort to personal attacks! When was the last time any of these guys posted something of substance(aside from one of Gadfly's meandering psuedo intellectual posts)?

Saddest thing is that these fellows get away with FLAMING and are rarely reprimanded by the mods but we all knows what happens to JJsushi when shit starts to fly. . .
