But I must say some kathuys are more Woman than Thai women and much more outgoing and extravert so they yield a certain attraction for sure. None too few guys were leaving with ladyboys..and happily so..but as other posters have pointed out - the ladyboys in Nana are mainly in the ladyboy bars so there is little doubt this is what these guys have travelled half the world to do after watching too much shemale porno...now Patpong is different ---a lot of mixture of ladyboy and real girls in the bars...Kings group or whatever...which is one reason I don't like Patpong much...I don't really want to have to be that careful - some of the post ops are way too cute for comfort..it happened to a friend of mine, ha ha, that the cutest little bargirl he couldn't resist turned out to be a queen with a very wierd attitude once they got back to the hotel, he still doesn't know for sure but the "little head" was clearly unimpressed...to summarize, sometimes it is so clearly a guy that you want to laugh, but other times not...How about Soi Cowboy...do they mix them in there?..somehow I guess not... For this simple reason that most of the katoeys in Nana are in bars that are exactly that - ladyboy bars. Cascades, Obsession etc. ... Several of the gogos have a few khatoeys mixed in with the TGs. They are technically female and there are a couple in my past I will NEVER be sure about. I thought they were women at the time so I does not haunt me. Here in California (no idea on other states) they are considered "Transgendered." Not sure how that leagally works...in terms of Identification for passports, driver's license etc...My understanding is Thailand only recognizes the birth gender. Not sure if that is still true. Dunno about passport and other docs. I've heard too that Thailand sticks to the birth gender for life. As far as knowing/not knowing, within the context of bars it is probably related to how long the punter has been around. Think of your first time to Thailand, you probably didn't at first have a feel for all the features and sizes of true thai girls, but liked what you saw and hadn't really considered that katoeys could actually blend and be hot. Katoey bars are actually even worse for newbies because some of them are so utterly unconvincing as a newbie you could think to yourself, I know that one is suspect but this one has to be a real girl because she's totally different and feminine. Alcohol definitely is an influence, probably mostly a matter of letting oneself go, but also it can inhibit the detection radar. It's got to be no coincidence katoeys come out of the woodwork and start lining the streets around closing time and not much earlier. In the whole of Cowboy, I've spotted less than a handful lately. No katoey bars there, and very rare to have even one at a bar. But you've got to watch it as Cowboy at times gets the very most convincing ones and punters there may have their guard down. I don't think she is there anymore, but someone once made a post that said barfine the best looker at rawhide and you'll have been with a katoey. I once scouted it but couldn't see the katoey but I got the best looking one to say something back to me and then I knew it was her and only then was able to piece all the subtle clues together. There was a pretty popular girl at Peppermint at PTY who was taller than most and very good looking that a lot of guys just assumed she must be a K-toy. I know a girl from Living Dolls who admittedly had some pretty big hands but is gorgeous and most definitely a girl. I had one guy sitting next to me saying that she must be a K-toy since she is so good looking, has big hands and never shows. But the reason she never shows is that she has a minor birth defect that she is very self conscious about.
