Scumbag British Gutter Press

Well I doubt anybody on this board would make that connection bibblies. But with all the articles about sex slavery one sees in the British press the average newspaper reader could easily get the wrong impression about Thailand and the men who choose to live there. It might even attract the wrong kind of tourists.

Hi Mekong,

thanks for your "measured" reply. I stand by my conclusion on your "appearance" on this forum.

Indirectly you imply in many of your posts that you either earn a lot, or so you think, know local VIP's, know EPL coaches, etc.

This is a trait many "XXS penis syndrome" people show, for the need of having to proof themselves. Up to you!

Intelligent, reasonable and well balanced people, rich or not, VIP or not, don't show this behaviour.

You may well be a very nice guy, a great professional and a fantastic guy to have a drink with, but that is certainly not how you come across here.

To me you sound like one of those oil guys who drinks in Ban Chang's beer bars. Ever been there? May have met you there while having a beer after golf.

I have a reasonable job and do not need the additional income from "shrinking".

Good luck to all!

Japio 1,

Lets apply your amateur shrink way of thinking to your own postings.

What Local VIP's do I imply that I know?

As for EPL Coaches what did I say? if you were to re-read my initial OP you will find I said

For the past few years a well known football manager in the English game has been coming to Thailand for 2-3 weeks during the off season just to chill out, play a few rounds of golf and socialise with a few friends he has made here.

So based on that statement I am bragging about knowing Many EPL Coaches?

Jeez I happen to mention about a guy who happens to be friendly with friends of mine and I have grown accustomed to seeing around 2-3 weeks a year.

As for Income, as I stated in my previous posting, I know the market price for the industry I have worked in all of my life and I also happen to report what is being offered to work in certain regions on certain projects.

Based on my simple comments and observations, you my friend multiply everything I have said by ten and then reply with a slight hint of jealousy.

Why is that so?

Is it what I say, or should I rephrase that as, what you infer I say, touches a pang of jealousy within yourself?

Who is suffering from "XXS Penile Syndrome" my friend?

For the record, I used to drink in places like the offshore bar and Mc'Allisters (god rest his soul) bar and grill back in 91-92, 15 years on I am a little bit further advanced in my career than that level now(No that was not bragging, Just a factual point)

My apologies. Site is switiching servers. Leave it for a couple of days.

Once again for the benefit of Mekong who still does not get it, and keeps wanting to escalate the stakes I have no interest in Mr.Coppell.

And once again I am happy to repeat that there is no story I have done from Thailand or anywhere for that matter that I cannot justify.

If however Mekong mingles with drug or people traffickers,Chelsea Headhunters, ASFO members ,child abusers, people on the wrong side of the law, conmen, Reebok executives, or dare I say drink in Jameson's then it is quite possible he might be getting a jaundiced image.

Perhaps he should go back to his sources and ask what exactly did I do?

I do broadcast for BBC but not that often. More often for Sky actually because the Beeb have fairly large staff here now.

I also starburst news. That is on any particular day say the day of coup or the New Year's eve bombings, stories from me would have appeared in several papers in the UK and also Australia.

The Times used under my byline the copy pretty much as written.

The Mirror added a new intro under my byline saying something like 'Thousands of Brits were living in fear last night' etc. That sort of thing is going to attract derision.

They do this with agency copy too, but the pops do not usually by line the agencies.

Not one to malign a big multi-national company providing employment to 75,000 people there, eh?

Perhaps a joke or maybe indicative of typical journalist's anti-big business bias?

In either case, in a line with "drug or people traffickers", "conmen" and "child abusers"... you'd better hope that one of them doesn't see it. They have armies of lawyers, you know. Like Mr Burns in The Simpsons. :D

Ah those naughty Reebok executives again. I don't think I have any problem with them keeping their labour costs down and paying decent wages by local standards. I do think the shareholders should know how the profits get spent when on official business if only so that they, the shareholders, will know what to do if they ever manage to get over to Bangkok for a few days (minus the missus like.)

Here's an article by Christopher Hitchens on politics and journalism which may interest some...

"Ah those naughty Reebok executives again."

Indeed indecent how companies monies are spent, I have seen this over and over again in lot of companies whilst they would loose good people by refusing a 50 usd monthly salary raise for those who have problems paying their rent...

So you think such executives are better human beings than drug traffickers? :hubba:

"So you think such executives are better human beings than drug traffickers?"

I'm not sure I would make such general observations. Life is unfair that's all I know. Some get to wear expensive sports shoes...other have to make them.

Have you been keeping up with this thread? We are talking about an article Famous Grouse wrote where he exposed some Reebok executives for hiring Patpong bar girls for a party. Photographs were taken and the Reebok people got quite upset. It raises some interesting ethical questions.

My initial reaction was a sort of kneejerk...screw the Reebok executives. What are they complaining about? But the implication of course is that Reebok executives are the great evil exploiters therefore they aren't entitled to do naughty things in private. My feeling now is that provided they pay their workers well by local standards they can spend their profits how they want.

So I guess the real question is are the Reebok workers getting a fair wage or not?
